KING MICAH: World Beyond The Ruins

Chapter 3

I woke up on a very comfortable thingy that felt like it was moving. My eyes hurt as I tried opening them and when I finally did, my vision were a little blurry but I knew it was from staying under the cold water for that long.

I looked around and saw that I was in a car, a moving car and I gasp in amazement. This was the first time I have ever seen and been such a beautiful and clean car. The ones in the ruins were old, Rusty and not working. I used to play in them when I was a kid, playing hide and seek with my other friends and that was the perfect spot to hide but now, I’m actually sitting in one that actually works.

“You’re awake,” The King’s voice sounded from behind me and I turned to him looking at me.

He gazed at me with love and adoration and I knew why. Of course I heard stories of the Mighty King Micah, the only man to have ever lived for such a long time, for more than 700 years.

It is known that every wolf was blessed with a soul-mate, their other half except the King and that was why he became brutal, blaming their god the moon goddess for creating him without one.

“Lovette” He called again but I only spare him a glance before staring out the car window.

After being in the car for up to three hours with both I and King Micah being silent – sometimes just staring at each other, I noticed how the trees became greener and the grass had more life to them. It has been long I last saw such beautiful greens because in the ruins, everything was cold-dead. After a few minutes of staring at the green natures, I looked ahead through the drivers seat and a beautiful castle came in view.

“Wow” I gawked placing my hands on the car window to get a better view. I parted my lips softly as we approached the rusting gates of the caged royal walls made of pure concrete and bricks.

I probably look like a child who was just given their first Christmas gift, excited to see what’s in it and play with it, but this scene – this scene was nothing I’ve ever imagined to witness ever in my life.

The King chuckled at the other side, coming to sit next to me and place his hand on my shoulder but I was to mesmerized by the scene before me to care but still, I tensed up a little.

“Do you like it?” He asked in a whisper, his hot breath fanning my neck and making goosebumps appear on my skin. I take in a breath and nodded shaking, “Yes… It’s quite beautiful” I mumbled and the king hummed before giving me a little space and I released a breath.

The gates were opened and I finally got to see how the castle was like on the inside. The castle was incredible, breathtaking. Everything about the castle grounds screamed fantasy and royalty and suddenly, I felt out of place.

Everyone looked chic and rich, well-feed and in beautiful clothing ms save for some who were working and I could tell that they were humans.

The car finally stopped and the door was pushed open. I got out and turned around, looking at the castle one more time before my eyes landed on the man who wouldn’t stop looking at me.

He sauntered towards me with his hands in his black pants. I stood there, rocking on the ball of my feet and awkwardly placing my hands at my side.

“Come” he said, removing his right hand from his pants and putting it infront of me, waiting for me to accept it but all I did was look at the hand, then at his face before walking up the stairs that leads to the inside of the castle.

“What did I do to make you hate me so much?” He asked jogging to me at the stairs and I stopped, my eyes twitching.

“What did you do?” I asked and scoffed, taking a step close to him. “My family and friends are laying on the cold ground in pieces” I rasped poking his chest with my index finger.

“My mother is there on the floor laying in her own blood all alone and I never got to even give her a proper burial!!” I yelled at his face and a few heads turned out way and when they saw that the King was whom I was speaking to, they lowered their heads to the ground and mind their business.

Tears had now gathered in my eyes, threatening to spill but I kept them in. The scene of how mom died kept playing in my head like a broken record, repeating itself, taunting and telling me of how I could have saved her life if only I was faster, not just standing there like a log.

“I’m sorry, Lovette, I really am but I am a king, I had to do what had to be done. They broke a rule and that was the consequences of their actions.” He muttered running his hand over his face and released a sigh.

I gave him a nod and a tear fell from the action. I quickly wiped it away and continued my journey up the stairs even if I do not know where I’m going.

I could hear the king call someone from below me and a lady joins me at my side and I stopped again, also using the opportunity to rest because God, this damn stairs seems to go on forever.

“The King has ordered me to show you to your sleeping chamber” She said emotionlessly and bowed. I could tell she was human for she looked fragile unlike how the other beasts looked, Healthy.

“You no not need to bow” I told her when she raised her head a bit but her eyes were still staring at her shoes.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“His majesty would be angry” she murmured and I sighed nodded my head for I knew nothing would change her mind. It was already something that was drillee to their head.

We walk down the halls and soon we got to our destination. The door was pushed open by the maid and I gasped at the size and beauty of the room.

The room was covered in gray silk and black woody furnitures, our footsteps thundered against the wooden floor as we walked deeper into the room.

“The curtains are laced with magic, keeping the cold out and the room a designed temperature” she said motioning to the gray curtains that covered the ceiling high windows.

“Here is the bathroom” she mumbled pushing the door open and I was amazed at the size of the bathroom. Here I was thinking that the palace in the ruins had the best bathrooms but this beats it a hundred times.

“And finally,” She says walking forward while I trailed behind her. She pushed another door at the right revealing a…

“Spring bath?” I asked and she said at the same time. We both looked at each other and chuckled. Her eyes lit up a little when she laughed making her beautiful features come to life.

“I would leave it to you then, M’lady” She bowed before turning around and when she was at the door about to leave, I called out to her.

“Wait!” I said and she stopped turning her head and waiting for whatever task I had for her but that wasn’t the case. “What’s your name?” I asked her and she smiled a little.

“My name is Fallon” She murmured and bowed before closing the door behind her.

I smiled a little at that and I was happy that I had made a friend here.
