“Pregnant?” the words spurred out of Noah’s mouth like this was a movie or something like that. I nodded in affirmation and he looked sweaty and gross already. “Who is the father?” he asked and my eyebrows flew up.
“Are you kidding me?” I ask in a harsh whisper.
“Who is the father?” he asked again and I can’t believe him right now.
“You are,” I say, almost shouting out of my voice.
“I am?” he asked something so obvious and I felt like putting a knife through his head.
“Yes, Noah,” I say and sigh so loudly. I can’t believe it.
“Rachael?” he said and my eyes flew up to meet him. “Are you really sure? I mean did you have this done by a doctor? Have you done it elsewhere?” he asked the questions, spilling out his mouth.
“I had this done by my doctor,” I said and he looked at me with confusion.
“Come on,” he said standing up straightening his suit, and slammed some dollar notes on the table.
“Where to?” I asked as if it was an auto-reply.
“I have to confirm,” he said like this was a joke.
“What do you think?” I ask while still sitting down. “I’m not poor if you think I’m playing these stunts for you to like come to me or something like that. I will have you know I’m a really busy girl and one simple mistake puts me in a whole lot of mess” I say expressing my feelings to him.
“Rachael I never said anything like that” he defended and I frowned at him.
“You know what Noah, I just wanted you because I didn’t get myself pregnant so I wonder how you can doubt me right now,” I say and suddenly I feel like crying.
“Rachael calm down,” he said, sitting back down.
“Calm down?” I ask as the tears begin to drop from my eyes.
“Don’t cry,” he said, confused as to how to act towards me.
“Let’s go,” I say standing at you leaving my half-drunk smoothie on the table. He followed me and I could feel people’s eyes on us as we made our way out of the place.
“We will take my car,” he said. “I will have the driver drive your car and you can take it later,” he explained. As angry as I was I didn’t even complain I just sat in the car and gave him the keys to the car.
Soon he was driving us somewhere but it wasn’t the hospital.
“Where are we going?” I ask and he looks over slightly at me before looking back at the road. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“My place,” he says casually.
“Do you stay there alone?” I ask him and he nods. Any logical reasoning will tell you that you shouldn’t go after all he could be a kidnapper but I just went with it. What could be worse than losing your virginity and becoming pregnant?
He rounded the street and came to a deserted place that had only three houses with iron gates surrounding each of them. He stopped at the gate of one and it opened for him and he drove inside. My jaws dropped at the sight before me. The house was a mansion hell even bigger than my family house. It was all white on the outside and the garden that linked the front door was well trimmed.
If this is what the outside looked like then the inside must be very beautiful. He led me inside and we passed a corridor that led to a room. It wasn’t like a living room. The room was beautifully decorated. He then led me past a kitchen then into a room. It was filled with some beautiful paintings.
“Your house is very beautiful,” I say honestly as I take in the paintings. Although I don’t understand art, these look so beautiful.
“Thank you for your kind compliment,” he said, faking a British accent. “Although some people don’t like my style” he added with a bit of resentment.
“Whoever hates this is just rude” I comment, taking in all the furniture.
“My ex-girlfriend thinks all this is too much,” he added.
“Was that why you drank?” I ask because curiosity took the best of me.
“Yeah, apparently there is no happily ever after” he murmured. “Come take a seat,” he said sitting down.
“Thank you,” I said sitting down too on the same couch but keeping my distance.
“What are we going to do about the baby?” he asked me.
“I don’t know but my mom is going to be very disappointed in me. She trained me better than that” I lamented to him.
“What do you mean?” he said curiously now in his court.
“I mean the only reason my parents are married is because she was pregnant for me. My grandpa will never have approved of my mom. She was a poor girl” I explained to him. “Although my parents want me to marry who I love, they don’t want me to make the same mistake they made. But history repeated itself” I say and his head goes down.
“Are they still together?” he asked and I nodded. “They lasted that long?” he asked me and I nodded.
“They are still in love with each other as if it was the very day they met. They make me want to find true love” I tell him and he smirks.
“Maybe you have found true love,” he said and I looked around pretending not to get the message he was trying to pass across.
“Where? I don’t see anyone here” I say and his smirk goes off his face but he quickly replaces it. “My parents were actually in love before they married” I explained and he shrugged.
“So what we can get married and then fall in love,” he said, like marriage and commitment are some trivial issues.
“So that aside, what are we going to do?” I said, reminding him of why we were here.
“Get married,” he said and I faced him. “I can’t think of any other way or can you?”
