I'm Your Sister, Brother Chow

Chapter 53: Tricking Him Successfully

Chapter 53: Tricking Him Successfully

Vivian's body suddenly stiffened. She clenched the doorknob in her hand and tried hiding behind the

door.

No wonder Chow had left Ethan behind in the office today.

He had been out on a date. It hadn't been for work.

"I still have a lot of work to do today," Chow said, his voice a lot less cold than Vivian remembered. "I'll

send someone to pick you up tonight."

It was just that Chow's voice sounded void of all emotions just like a robot.

"Fine. In that case, let me wait in your office while the chauffeur arrives, okay?"

Whenever she was with Chow, Celine always behaved rather coquettishly.

They really weren't any different from the other couples out there.

This time, even if Chow didn't verbally agree to it, he still hadn't rejected her anyway.

The door to the chairman's office next door opened with a click. The two figures eventually disappeared

behind the thick steel door.

Vivian staggered in her footsteps. She gripped onto the doorknob even harder, as if her entire life

depended on it.

If she didn't do that, she really didn't know if she could walk out of the door unscathed today. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Ethan hadn't called the driver yet. Of course, he saw everything with his own two eyes.

He put his phone away with a worried look. "Miss, are you—"

Ethan wanted to ask if she was okay.

But it seemed that asking this question now would be rather inappropriate.

Vivian forced herself to smile, but her smile looked even sadder than when she was crying.

"I-I think that the driver won't be available after all. I'll just go home by myself," Vivian said.

If it was just a moment ago, Ethan might not have agreed to her request. How could he feel at ease,

especially after what he'd just witnessed?

"Wait, I can give you a ride," Ethan said. He was still a gentleman after all.

Still, he couldn't help feeling a little awkward since the situation had come to this.

Vivian turned her face away and shook her head. "Let me go back by myself, please. I'm begging you,"

she said in a choked voice.

She didn't want anyone to see her in such a sorry state right now.

Ethan's hand paused mid-air for a long time before he finally put it down with a sigh. "Alright. Be careful

on the way home, Miss. Call me if you need anything."

Vivian nodded and said nothing else.

She was afraid that she'd start sobbing as soon as she opened her mouth.

For now, the only thing she wanted to do was to leave this suffocating place and go as far away as

possible.

Who would have thought that the b*tch, Vivian would also be here?

Even if she still sounded like she was smiling, Celine's smile had long disappeared as she held on to

Chow's arm.

For the past few days, Chow had been avoiding her because he had been busy with work.

She never thought that she would bump into Vivian on the only day she managed to convince him to go

out on a lunch date with her.

Even if Vivian tried to hide, she had still seen her.

Had that sly little b*tch been waiting for Celine to leave so that she could do whatever she wanted with

Chow?

Celine clenched her fists tightly, her nails digging painfully into her palms.

Nonetheless, Chow didn't seem to notice any changes in her behaviour.

It could also be due to the fact that he never cared about her feelings anyway.

Chow withdrew his arm from her hold and walked over to his desk before taking a seat. He waved at

the sofa a few metres away. "Sit there and be quiet."

When she heard his voice void of emotion, she gritted her teeth in anger.

As soon as he entered the office, Chow would always be like this.

He always treated her like a hindrance, wanting to put a huge distance between them both as much as

possible.

It wasn't just because he'd told her to sit a few metres away, but also because he'd told her to keep

quiet.

To him, she was probably less important than a fraction of the files in his hands.

Celine never dared to rebel in the past, since she had been content just being the Chairman's girlfriend.

She used to be worried about losing her position, so she had always done as Chow wished.

But now, when she thought of the scene she saw through the crack in the door the other day, she could

feel her heart being engulfed in flames. It made her feel extremely jealous.

Why?

Why was the sl*t allowed to kiss him and hug him in his office, but she had to obediently shut up and

stay far away from him?

How ridiculous!

Celine looked at the crack in the door that she had deliberately left open and sauntered over to Chow's

desk with a determined look on her face.

"Chow, let's forget about work for a while and just chat, shall we?" she said. "Didn't you miss me at all?"

As she spoke, Celine reached Chow's side. She stroked Chow's broad shoulders with her long fingers

suggestively.

Chow didn't respond to her ministrations.

Instead, he furrowed his brows and looked at her with a frustrated expression on his face. "The driver

should already be here. You can leave now."

A hint of embarrassment flashed in Celine's eyes.

Not willing to give up, she moved closer and hugged Chow's neck from the back.

"Leave now!" Chow said, pushing her away impatiently.

"Ouch!" Celine cried out in pain. Her stomach had bumped against the edge of the desk. "That hurts!"

Chow didn't even shove her that hard. It shouldn't have hurt at all.

However, Celine immediately held her stomach and flinched in pain.

"Chow..." Celine called out pitifully to him.

Chow saw where she was holding onto and looked uneasy. He pulled her back into his arms. "I'm sorry.

I didn't mean to do that."

Celine buried her face into his chest, a sly smile hanging on her lips. "I know, but I just bumped right

into the scar and it stung for a bit."

Chow drew his lips in a tight line and carried her to the sofa, setting her down gently.

Before he could touch the hem of her shirt, she stopped him from going any further. "No."

Chow frowned. "Let me see if it really hurts."

Celine shook her head meekly and pitifully. "No, I don't want you to see the scar. It's so ugly."

Chow's expression was still unreadable, but there was a hint of darkness in his eyes.

Celine's eyes flickered as she reached out and hugged his neck. "Chow, just hold me like this, okay?

You haven't been looking for me recently. I'm getting worried. You'll still marry me, right?"

Chow's back was to the door, but the little crack in the door was right in the centre of Celine's line of

sight.

Chow's palm hovered above her body for a while before it finally rested on her back.

Celine smiled cunningly again.

She turned and gently kissed Chow's ear, her eyes never leaving the crack in the door, where Vivian

was staring straight at them.

...

...

In the empty underground parking lot, there was only a faint sobbing sound.

Despite trying to hold her feelings back, Vivian still couldn't help the sobs from escaping her mouth.

She'd already forgotten how she managed to leave the office.

She didn't even realise that she'd taken Chow's personal lift down to the underground parking lot.

Vivian only knew that she needed to find a place where nobody was around.

She didn't even know why she was crying.

Was it because she witnessed Celine and Chow hugging each other?

She had seen them like this so many times in the past two years. What was there to be upset about

this time?

Was it because she had finally chosen a cage that Chow had prepared to imprison her?

Was he going to imprison her by his side for the rest of her life?

Probably not.

It was too soon to talk about the rest of her life. For all she knew, Chow might even forgive her and let

her go eventually.

However, if that day really came, she didn't know if she would be happy or sad.

Vivian curled up quietly in the corner of the parking lot, looking a lot like a lost little puppy licking its own

wounds.

Suddenly, she heard the sound of a car entering the basement. Two headlights shone towards her.

Someone had just driven in.

Vivian never thought that anyone else would be witnessing her like this.

She was shocked to silence as soon as she heard the car. She quickly wiped the tears away from her

face, got up from the ground, and hid behind a pillar.

However, before she could completely conceal herself, the person in the car had already caught sight

of her and parked directly in the space right next to where she was hiding.

The car engine was then turned off before the driver stepped out from the car and closed the door

behind him.

It was only then that the teary Vivian realised it was Raylan, Chow only best friend.

Knowing that the newcomer was someone she knew, Vivian felt even more embarrassed.

She lowered her head and clasped her hands together. She had no idea how she was supposed to

face Raylan now.

Raylan had been extremely shocked to see Vivian like this.

He frowned as he stepped closer to her and handed her a tissue. "What are you doing here? Why are

you crying like this?"

Vivian took the tissue and covered her red, swollen eyes, shaking her head in panic. "N-no reason."

There was no way Raylan would believe that.

He lifted his eyes and looked at Chow's personal lift that usually went straight up to the topmost floor.

Even if he didn't know the details, he could already guess that Vivian's tears definitely had something to

do with Chow.

However, he couldn't understand how Chow would allow Vivian to come down here alone, especially

when she was crying like this.
