Chapter 23: You Can’t Afford to Mess With Me
Chow's actions shocked everyone. Vivian froze in his arms. She could not believe that he actually did
this to her in public.
The expression on the boy's face, which was originally hopeful and full of anticipation, was replaced by
shock and anger. He glared angrily at Chow but didn't know how to react. His face turned immensely
red.
Chow would never acknowledge such a weakling as an opponent, let alone his love rival.
He scoffed as he leaned forward to whisper icily in the boy's ear. "Don't listen to her nonsense. Women
are more cunning than you think."
His voice was very low. Even if they were surrounded by pin-drop silence, no one else other than the
three of them could hear it.
Vivian's face turned deathly white. The anger in the boy's eyes was also evidently aimed towards
Chow.
Chow straightened up and fixed the boy's collar. "I'm warning you to leave my woman alone," he said in
a bone-chilling voice. "You can't afford to mess with me."
Chow finally let go of Vivian. He scanned the crowd with his sharp eyes once more before firmly
striding away.
After learning of Chow's identity, the students looked at Vivian with even more contempt, but they dared
not say anything.
However, she didn't even need to hear any more such gossip to feel the sense of shame and
embarrassment that Chow made her feel just from his actions earlier.
Her face was sickly pale, her dark eyes glistening with tears.
She didn't let the tears fall because she knew nobody would feel any sympathy for her.
...
She slowly made her way towards the classrooms under the watchful eyes of the crowd.
Since it was almost the class time, the student onlookers also hurried back to class with her. The
school grounds started bustling again, but Vivian's heart was already dead to the world.
She had been stripped bare of her final layer of defence under Chow's merciless actions.
There was only one month left of high school, but her head could only sink even lower than before.
When she arrived at the classroom, Vivian quickly walked back to her seat. Her deskmate immediately
pulled her desk away, contempt and disgust clearly written on her face.
Vivian trembled slightly but she didn't look up at her. She just kept staring at the textbooks in front of
her.
However, the boy who had been following Vivian exclaimed angrily. "Cindy, what do you think you're
doing?"
Judging from the boy's figure and appearance, he was obviously one of the more popular boys in
school.
When he called out to Cindy, her face turned red instantly. Her body also trembled in shame.
But when she realised that she was now the main focus of everyone else in the class, she retorted
back at the boy. "What do I think I'm doing? Hudson, we're you not aware of what happened just now?
She's a dirty, filthy b*tch! I just don't want to be tainted by her!"
"You—" Hudson rushed over angrily and slammed his palms down on her table with a loud bang. Cindy
jumped in shock.
"Shut up, Cindy," a girl said next to her as she tugged on Cindy's hand. "You'll get in trouble if someone
complains about you to the teachers."
Cindy suddenly remembered Chow's warning. Her imposing manner started deflating like a pricked
balloon.
She pursed her lower lip and sat indignantly in her seat. As most of the girls in the classroom regarded

boil. Their eyes all shot daggers at Vivian.
Vivian didn't seem interested in their dispute. She just lowered her head in her seat, wishing she could
make herself invisible to escape the ugly looks thrown at her.
Hudson felt Vivian's desperation and got even angrier. "If you don't want to sit next to her, then I will,"
he said. "Exchange seats with me."
Hearing his words, most of the students in the class gasped in shock.
What kind of charm did Vivian have? How could Hudson still want to protect her after what just
happened?
It was so infuriating. Why was Hudson not interested in the other girls who were so much better than
Vivian?
Nonetheless, none of them could change Hudson's decision.
