Chapter 0041
As Amara expected, a few days went by without any call or form of communication from Bethany. At first, she thought it was because she wasn't making any initiative to contact Gemini, but after a few days, several more rejected gift and proposals, Amara realized that her
assumptions were correct.
So, on the third day, she decided to meet Bethany face to face and have a chat.
She had chosen to come to the golf course where Bethany visited on her less busy days.
Unlike her usual dressing, Amara had chosen to wear casual, but formal clothing. A white long sleeved dress shirt with a black vest over it and black trousers, along with a pair of black leather shoes. Her hair was styled in a ponytail and she had worn no makeup. The moment she entered the course, the receptionist quickly spotted her and smiled.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
"Hello, do you have a reservation?"
"Yes, it's under the name Amara Miller."
The receptionist quickly checked and nodded. "You're free to go in."
Amara thanked the receptionist and walked forward. As she walked in, she tried looking for Bethany, but no matter how much the female usually stood out, Amara couldn't locate her.
She wasn't in the main building, nor was she at the outdoor café. Amara began to suspect that perhaps Bethany wasn't at the course today. She was just about to go inquire from the receptionist when the familiar sound of giggling reached her ears. Following the source of the noise, Amara's eyes twitched the moment she saw Celestine in the distance, standing beside Tobias, who was smiling whilst trying to teach her how to use a golf club.
It was a rather comical scene, especially since Celestine's face was red and Tobias had an indifferent expression.
Amara found herself rolling her eyes and turning her back.
What was it with the two always appearing at the worst times possible? It was like some twisted comedy script where she was the victim.
"Oh, Amara!" Celestine's voice made her stop in her retreat. "What a surprise, I wasn't expecting you here." The model jogged up to her and smiled rather lively at her.
Amara's eyes instantly spotted the white bandage around her wrist before she looked away. "Neither did I."
"But you know, think it's a good coincidence Celestine smiled, her eyes shining. "After almost a week in the hospital, Tobias insisted that step outside, hence why I'm here, he's teaching me how to play golf. Would you like to join?"
Amara didn't respond, rather she eyed Celestine in a manner that was enough to make her flinch, right before she walked away, bumping shoulder with her as she walked towards Bethany who had just showed up. "Mrs. Sinclair!" She greeted.
"Oh, Amara, I didn't expect to see you here." Bethany returned the greeting, grinning from ear to ear.
"Same here. A friend actually recommend this place so I decided to try it out. Do you play golf here, Ms. Sinclair?"
"Yes, in fact, I have a match right now," The moment she said this, her eyes sighted Tobias. "Ah, and that's my challenger."
"Hello Bethany." Tobias greeted the woman with a smile and a nod.
"Tobias, it's good to see you, although I must inform you that our match today can't happen."
"Why's that?"
Bethany pointed to the space beside her. "My partner happened to have something doing so he," She paused and suddenly turned to Amara. "Amara, you don't happen to have a partner, now do you?" "Huh?" Caught off guard by the question, Amara blinked and stared at Bethany, completely puzzled.
"No."
"Perfect. Be my partner, would you?"
"Oh," Amara hesitated because she didn't want to be near Tobias, but at the same time, knowing that he had approached Bethany with the same agenda as her, she didn't want to seat back and watch him snag the deal away from her. "Of course."
"Good," Bethany gestured for them to move towards the gold course, handing Amara a golf club when they were in place. "I hope your golf skills are good and you won't disappoint."
Amara opened her mouth to speak,
but Celestine suddenly beat her to the punch. Amara's skills aren't all that impressive seeing as she hasn't played.in...forever," She giggled innocently. "But fear not Mrs. Sinclair, Toby was kind enough to teach me and I certainly won't hesitate to lend a helping hand if she needs-."
