His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 442

He had never shared any of this with her.

All she knew was that he had brought Robin here for treatment. The facility was nice, the costs steep, but she wasn't on the hook for them.

She hadn't realized just how devoted he was to Robin's care.

Suddenly, she was flooded with an indescribable emotion.

"Robin, can you understand what I'm saying?" Eliza asked, trying to connect with Robin. "Do you know my name?"

Robin was silent for a moment. Then, he slowly said, "Eliza."

Tears burst from Eliza's eyes like a dam breaking, pouring out uncontrollably.

She hugged Robin tightly, letting the mix of sadness and joy swirl around in her heart.

The man clumsily patted her back, "Sis, sis, don't cry."

"I won't cry," Eliza said, calming herself and wiping the tears from her eyes. She turned to the nurse, "If we keep up with the treatment, could he fully recover?"

The nurse, not being a doctor, hesitated to make a firm judgment. But it was clear he was getting better day by day.

"Ms. Eliza, I think there's a good chance Robin will continue to improve. Recently, he's been managing his emotions well, taking care of his own hygiene, and eating more than before. If it weren't for his disability, I believe his mental state would be even better." Indeed.

This was such a joyful change.

After years of darkness, a ray of sunshine finally broke through the clouds in her heart.

She turned and pushed Mikey in front of Robin. "Robin, do you recognize Daddy?"

Robin's gaze slowly moved to Mikey's face.

He seemed to be studying a stranger, but the faint light in his eyes suggested a flicker of recognition.

Just as Eliza was about to lose hope, Robin struggled to say two words, "Dad, dad."

Tears filled Eliza's eyes as she tightly held Robin and Mikey's hands, wanting to freeze this moment of warmth forever.

"This is wonderful, truly wonderful. Our family will slowly get better."

"Sis, sis, don't cry." Robin slowly raised his hand, trying to wipe the tears from her face. "Crying makes you less pretty." "I won't cry."

Eliza smiled through her tears, feeling an unprecedented sense of relief and satisfaction.

Life wasn't all darkness.

The light had finally arrived.

As they left the rehabilitation center, Eliza went to see the doctor responsible for Robin's recovery to get an update.

It was similar to what the nurse had said.

Casper had indeed put in more effort into Robin's care than she had imagined.

In the three years she was away until now, he had been traveling back and forth between Falconridge and Oak Falls almost every month, personally discussing Robin's condition with the head of the center.

Fortunately, Robin's progress was unexpectedly good.

No one dared to promise a full recovery, but regaining cognitive functions and gradually getting better was highly likely.

"Did Mr. Casper say anything about

when he might stop Robin's treatment? Worried the doctor might not understand her concern Eliza added, "I mean, could he stop covering the treatment costs.or... stop looking for good doctors..."

Actually, she had many more worries.

She just didn't know where to start.

"Mr. Casper, just a few days ago, specifically discussed Robin's medication with me and arranged for a doctor from abroad to come for a consultation next week. Mr. Casper has been closely monitoring the treatment and has even prepaid for the treatment here. Looking at the balance, there's enough for another ten years of treatment."

Eliza was momentarily shocked.

Casper had said he would take responsibility for Robin's treatment indefinitely, which she had taken for an empty promise. Unexpectedly...

With love and dedication, she couldn't express it, but he truly had kept his word.

And he was doing his best to make amends.
