His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 296

Eliza might not love Casper and might even hate him, but would she team up with an outsider, especially someone like Zach, to stir up trouble? That was a line she couldn't cross. Zach was no better than Casper. Eliza used to be so measured, but now... "Mr. Casper, dinner's ready," Eliza called out, placing the meal on the table. Then, she retreated to the kitchen and made herself a steaming plate of bolognese. Casper sat down while Eliza found a small stool in the kitchen and ate her simple meal alone. His appetite disappeared. He sat there, brows furrowed, and called out to her, his voice tinged with anger, "Come here and eat."

"Huh?" Holding her plate of bolognese, she looked at him, puzzled. "Aren't I not supposed to sit at the table?"

Hadn't Casper made it clear what her place was? A servant in the house didn't dine with the master.

"I'm ordering you to come and sit down," he said sternly, his breath uneven. "I have something to ask you."

"Oh." So, he wanted something.

Eliza put down her plate and stepped out. "Mr. Casper, what do you need?" she asked, standing by, her tone respectful yet distant.

Casper barely lifted his eyelids, his gaze as sharp as a knife cutting through the air. "I heard Zach has been talking to you. What did he want?"

Secrets have a way of coming out, but she hadn't expected Casper to find out so soon.

"It was nothing. Just some trivial stuff," she said, biting her lip, trying to keep her tone neutral.

Still, her expression betrayed her.

Casper stood up, slowly closing the distance between them, the chill in the room growing with each step. "Trivial? Are you sure?"

"It really was just inconsequential things," she insisted, retreating, trying to dodge his piercing gaze.

"What about the Blue Mountain project? Did he bring that up?"

Eliza stayed silent.

"He didn't mention Blue Mountain?" Casper struggled to contain his anger, hoping she'd be honest. "Did he ask you to do something?"

Eliza lowered her eyes, unable to meet his glare. She backed up until she felt the cold wall against her. "If you think we talked about something, ask Zach," she said. Casper laughed bitterly. She was guarded against him5t.

"Do you think that bastard will tell

me the truth?" He grabbed her chin tightly, his voice fiery. "Eliza, I saved your son's life, and now you're

thinking of teaming up against me?"

Her eyes trembled, and she shook her head. She wanted to deny it all, but she couldn't completely because she had been seriously considering betraying him.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

She hadn't expected Casper to guess it was about Blue Mountain so quickly. It had only been a few days. She couldn't explain.

His grip tightened, his gaze fierce. "You eat my food, drink my water, and use my things. I take care of you and your son, and this is how you repay me?"

He was nearly choking her. Struggling to breathe, she finally admitted, "Yes, Zach did talk to me about the Blue Mountain project."

"And then?" His dark eyes narrowed. "What did you agree to?"

"He asked me to help him steal the

Blue Mountain blueprints, and I.. She didn't want to lie, especially not when he seemed ready to end her life. "...I was tempted."

Zach wanted Casper to be attacked from all sides. Eliza was a pawn in his game. Zach knew that if it all went wrong, the blame would falfon Eliza, and he wouldn't face any consequences. His plan was perfect.

"Good, very good." Casper suddenly released her, his smile bitter. "What have you decided?"
