Chapter 38 Psycho Ex
It was the third day, the last day that Ian was scheduled to come to the office. He was leaving for work directly from Blair’s place since he still couldn’t get enough of her.
He arrived at the precinct and went directly to Dave’s office, he was glad that Garcia was not around.
“There you are, come Taylor. I got cases which need fresh pair of eyes…” Dave, his captain told him to take a seat and he started piling him with a couple of thick folders on the desk.
“Garcia, I need her to be partner up with someone else,” Ian stated as he took his seat.
“You’re sure? she seemed to speak highly of you, I thought you’re good with her for another couple of months until I could find her another mentor.”
“You know I work best alone.”
“Okay, I’ll see what I can do. Meanwhile, just stick with her, I’ll arrange someone to take over.”
“Thanks, Captain,” Ian said as he relaxed back to his seat.
“Anytime, so… how’s Blair doing?”
Ian had the talk with his captain and the paperwork done up until it was lunchtime and Garcia showed up saying she had just attended a mandatory psych evaluation. Ian didn’t assume anything else, since internal affairs would call officers after any gun shooting-related situation.
“Hey, so you’re back? look I’m sorry about everything. I should have told her to stay with you and not let her go away.”
Ian was still agitated hearing her excuses, he knew exactly that she had sent Blair away from his home and hide his phone. But he was done with her and didn’t even want to bother with her words.
At least he could rest easy knowing that Blair is back at her house and didn’t have to handle any future situation with Garcia, at least until she gets a new mentor and they are done working together.Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
“I am, I’ll see you later. I’m out to lunch.” That was all he said when he decided to leave her and have a nice peaceful lunch alone.
“I’m hungry too, I’ll go with you.” She smiled at him and was about to go with him.
“I’m meeting someone.” He lied, and she knows it. Both had been seeing each other long enough to know the signs. She was boiling when she realized that he had lied to her face.
She had been called by internal affairs regarding her emotional rampage, turns out she had been reported by her ex-lover for being a stalker. She was livid and apparently that didn’t go well with them.
Garcia was having a very bad day, so when the office hour ended she was following Ian back to his house. Her mind had gone crazy on her and she was breaking into his place. Ian cursed at her when she was there holding a knife to herself, standing in the middle of his dining area.
“Why won’t you love me?” she was crying, sobbing while her hand was tightly holding onto one of his kitchen knives.
“No one would fucking love me!”
She was hysterically crying, her hand was trembling and she was warning Ian not to go near her.
“I’ve given you everything! I’ve given you the space you needed! and now you’re fucking her?!” she whimpered when she sliced her inner arm until it trickled with blood.
“Kimmy! please don’t do this to yourself! you will find someone else!”
“You don’t think I’ve tried?! everyone left me! nobody fucking wants me!” she slit her other arm making her sobbed harder.
“I thought you were the one Ian. I’ve waited for you.” She rests herself back to the dining table as she was starting to stagger in her stance.
“Don’t, don’t you dare come any closer. I don’t want to kill you. I should kill myself, I’m the fucking failure here.” She wiped her face with her hand, making her face now smeared with her blood.
Ian didn’t know what to do, he had never seen her like this. Never in his wildest thoughts that he thinks she would act this way, should he know about the instability he would not get involved with her in the first place.
“What? why are you studying me? do you think I’m a cuckoo? maybe I am! and you can congratulate yourself for it.” She smiled wickedly at him as she pressed the knife to the delicate skin of her slender neck.
He knows she had lost it when he saw her hand grip the knife tighter as if she was really going to slit her own throat, and that was when he pulled out his gun swiftly and shot her shoulder just at a point where she would feel the hurt and drop the knife.
“What the fuck!!” she yelled at him when he shot her. She falls to her knees and Ian quickly grabs the knife away from her and handcuffed her to the foot of the dining table.
Ian quickly called his precinct to report the incident. He asked for an ambulance to his residence and get his colleague from internal affairs to his house to take his statement. He understands at that exact moment why she had been called for a psych evaluation.
He could already see it his career was going down the drain in the next couple of hours.
He would be questioned for having an affair with a co-worker, then he would be subjected for not going forward with the affair knowing that he would evaluate her performance as he was her mentor. But Ian was keeping those thoughts behind him when he was bandaging her gunshot wounds and knife cuts trying not to make her lose more blood.
Less than fifteen minutes later an ambulance and a police car arrived. Ian was straight to being questioned, thankfully Dave heard about the call and decided to tag along. He was surprised with what he saw but remain calm in front of internal affairs as he was trying to save Ian, one of his best detectives so that he won’t get sucked into internal investigation.
It was not until three hours later that he was finally left alone in his house. He was bloody, tired, and hungry.
But the first thing he reaches was a cold bottle of beer which he drinks down in less than a minute. His hands were shaking, and his heart was beating so fast when the mask that he wore was gone the moment he was left alone.
And just as if Blair could feel his anxiety, her name appears on his phone.
“Hey… baby,” his voice was a bit shaky and throaty and she was sensing immediately that there was something wrong with him.
“Ian? are you okay?”
“No baby, I missed you. I need you…”
He had never needed to be with anyone, he has always been independent since he had learned to walk. But knowing that he could rely on Blair, that was when he started feeling the need to be close to her.
“Ian, what happened?”
He took another bottle from the fridge and start telling her about Garcia.
