“I didn’t expect to meet you here,” said Fania with a super duper happy face. Aside from the fact that the event went well, the guests almost all took part in the auction, and the money in her donation account had reached its target. It was even more than she could have imagined for this charity night.
“SEO CEO sent us to take part.” Giselle smiled kindly. To her surprise, the originator of this charity night was someone she had known before; Fania Langham. All Giselle knew was that this night was a charity event that SEO and many other businesses involved in the entertainment world usually participated in. It was also not uncommon for dignitaries to participate as the charity event was organized to provide aid to disaster victims in the ASIA region. Along with donations, a rare jewelry auction was also held here.
Justin was eyeing a beautiful red stone necklace. Giselle, who was watching from a distance, already felt that the necklace would be very beautiful on the right person. Justin said he would use it on the night of the show in the final year of SEO. Although she wanted to ask more questions, Giselle had already been asked to leave. Understandably, Justin was not a person who was willing to wait for the auction process which was certainly crowded.
“Yes, I think tonight’s auction also has many amazing collections.”
“You’re right.” Giselle still put on a friendly face. “I apologize for not being able to attend your wedding. And I congratulate you on your marriage.” Giselle extended her hand which was immediately greeted by Fania’s beaming face.
It had already been two months since the event had taken Centralia’s public domain by storm. Ah, it wasn’t just Centralia that was surprised by the end of the event, but almost the entire country. No one expected the bride and groom to be different from the invitations that had been distributed.
“Thank you,” Fania said still with her big smile. “It was full of drama, but at least I’m happy. Very happy.”
“I’m glad to hear that.” Giselle glanced slightly at her friend who seemed to be taking it all in stride, as if their conversation was nothing more than idle chatter. Even Harvey’s face showed boredom as Giselle lingered with Fania. “You don’t want to say congratulations? Neither of us can attend the party, right?”
Harvey chuckled softly but extended his hand. Forced. Which was met with a forced gesture from Fania as well. “Congratulations,” Harvey said.
“Thanks.” That was all Fania said. Then the link of their hands was immediately unraveled. But since Giselle was still there, she still flashed a smile to make a friendly impression and as the host, she welcomed the invited guests well. “Please enjoy the event. I guess you’re looking forward to taking the necklace home, right?”
Giselle chuckled. “My boss, if he has a wish, he can’t be prevented no matter how much it costs.”
Fania nodded in understanding. “Sometimes, we do have to pay a high price for something we’re really aiming for.”
Feeling quite strange about Fania’s remark, Giselle looked at the pretty girl wearing a calf-length skirt, combined with a milk chocolate shirt that actually made Fania’s skin even more brilliant. Not to mention that her slightly reddish hair was done up in a neat bun. It gave the impression that Fania could attract attention even through the simplicity of her appearance. This was in stark contrast to the invited guests, most of whom were quite excited about their appearance and make-up.
As public figures who receive a lot of attention, both Giselle and Harvey should be able to adjust their look both in formal and informal events. Don’t overdo it with the glamor that gives the impression of excess but also showcase the charm they have. Like tonight, they stole all the attention.
The latest dresses by the famous boutique; Long John, as their main sponsor for the next month, managed to draw admiration and many people were looking for what they were wearing tonight.
“Do you have time, Giselle?” asked Fania just before she left Giselle and Harvey.
“I think there is.” Giselle frowned slightly. Feeling strange about Fania’s question just now.
“I’d like to talk. Maybe an hour after the show?” Fania looked thoughtful before continuing. “You don’t mind waiting?”
“No problem. I think I need to talk to you too.”
Fania’s smile returned. “Very well. Shall we meet again in the west wing? I have a place where we can talk.”
Giselle nodded approvingly.
“But I hope it’s just the two of us. No one else because what I want to talk about is not something that can be publicly known.” Fania’s eyes glanced slightly at Harvey who seemed to be rolling his eyeballs in annoyance.
“I’m not interested in your chatter, by the way.” Harvey waved a hand. “If you want to talk now, go ahead. I don’t care.” He walked away. Making Giselle even more astonished.
What exactly is Fania and Harvey’s relationship? Why do they seem to be enemies?
“Forgive Harvey. I think he’s a little tired,” Giselle said, trying to break the ice. she would find out later. But in front of her, Fania and what she wanted to talk about was far more important. Feeling a connection with a figure whose whereabouts were suddenly unclear; Andrew Kingston.
Let’s hope Fania can answer all of Giselle’s curiosities.
It’s been almost two months and Giselle hasn’t heard anything from him at all. And it seems only right that they talk, right?
“Have you tried contacting her?” Harvey asked once. Right when they were enjoying a short vacation before starting their shooting schedule in a different place.
“I did,” Giselle said listlessly. “But there was no reply at all. I’ve also tried calling him, but it’s only connected to the operator.”
“Oh, my God.” Harvey sighed softly. “I have a bad feeling about this, Giselle.”
“Can you not scare me all the time?” asked Giselle as she glanced exasperatedly at Harvey. Her best friend even looked relaxed after saying such horrible things earlier? Seriously!
“I’m telling the truth, you know.” Harvey chuckled. “Hanry Kingston’s influence is not just any influence. That marriage was canceled and tarnished his name so badly. Have you ever wondered how that selfish old man would have felt if he’d been betrayed?”
“Never mind.” Giselle waved it off immediately, not wanting to hear any more of Harvey’s assumptions and bad thoughts about Andrew’s whereabouts. Up until now, Giselle had no idea where he was.
“I hope he’s okay, as annoying as he is,” Harvey said, putting down his soda can. “He’s a good guy.”
Giselle agreed with Harvey this time.C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
And now, just in case Fania knew a little about Andrew’s whereabouts. If Andrew hadn’t backed out or run away like the media was talking about, Fania wouldn’t have had the joy of marriage.
That’s right.
Giselle believed Fania had more information. And she hoped that she could at least get rid of the anxiety that had been building up for a while about Andrew. She hoped he was okay. As a good friend, that wasn’t unusual, was it?
