Falling for my Ex-Fiancee’s Best friend

He will pay

Demelza walked towards the door to leave right after Silver left angrily. She wasn’t in the mood to hear anything Nathan had to say, after all; she was loved at home.

“Don’t go,” Nathan said to her with a firm voice.

She paused and gave him a look with tears well up in her eyes. She tried so hard to hold the tears back but she couldn’t. At some point, Nathan felt guilty but not guilty enough to stop her from leaving.

Without saying a word, Demelza left the house. While she walked on the side of the road, she thought of where to go because she knew her father would be hell mad seeing her in that state because of Nathan.

She had two thoughts, either to book a hotel room for a couple of nights or go to Katherine’s house. She knew Katherine would welcome her with open arms but she was very skeptical about it.

She got to the coffee shop and walked to have a seat and clear her head before choosing a place to go.

“What is your order, ma’am?” A young petite lady asked her.

“Er, fries and coffee would be fine.” Demelza responded.

“Okay, ma’am. It’ll be ready soon.” The lady responded and turned to leave but paused at the sound of Demelza’s voice calling out to her.

“Make the fries a double and I need a lot of ketchup by the side.” Demelza added.

“Okay, it’ll be here soon.” The lady responded and excused herself.

Demelza sat there pressing her phone and surfing the internet while she waited for her order to arrive.

“Thank you.” She said out loud as the lady placed her order on the table.

She smiled in excitement and satisfaction as she began to eat. “Slow down, you might choke yourself.” She heard a voice say to her. She looked up to see who it was but she did not recognize the face. She smiled a little, feeling slightly embarrassed which made her cheeks turn red.

She kept on eating and surfing the internet at the same time and she failed to notice the figure that approached her.

“Really?” The familiar voice asked her as he sat down in the chair directly opposite her.

“You followed me here?” She asked Nathan who was seated opposite her with his eyes fixed on her.

“Why not, you would not stay back and listen to me.” Nathan stated.

“Listen to what exactly? That the whole time I was in the hospital you were less concerned and fucked a random lady. And while I tried to look for you after I got it if the hospital, you were still fucking her. or, is it the part that while I came to take care of you while you were sick, it was still that lady. Am_” Nathan cut her short before she could finish speaking.

“I didn’t ask you to come take care of me while I was sick. that was your decision.” Nathan said with so much pride laced on his voice.

“Yeah, all the more reason why I left.” She responded as she rolled her eyes and got up from the table. “Pay for it.” She said to him, picked up her coffee cup and walked out.

When she got close to the door, the waitress who had served her gave her a questionable look and Demelza understood what it was about.

“He’ll pay,” She said pointing at Nathan.

Nathan picked up a chip from the plate, dropped a hundred dollar note and hurried out of the shop to catch up with Demelza.

When the waitress got to the table, she was shocked to see such an amount of money on the table. she smiled and picked it up without hesitation, happy that she got such a nice tip.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

“Demelza, hold on.” Nathan called out but she ignored him and kept walking on the side of the road.

He felt frustrated following her and being ignored at the same time.

“Damn it! can you pause for a bit.” He requested but she kept walking still.

She stopped a taxi and got in without looking back which left Nathan utterly speechless. He stood there and watched the taxi leave. He scoffed at what just happened, unable to believe his eyes.

After a few minutes, he boarded a taxi and went home too.

Demelza decides to go home being that she has been away from home for a while. She ensured she changed her facial expression before going into the house to prevent her dad from knowing what was wrong.

“Good evening dad, good evening mum” she greeted and headed upstairs.

Thorpes and Harriet knew that something was up but they decided not to bother her.

After a few minutes of being settled in the room, her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on her door.

“Come in,” She said loud enough to the person’s hearing.

Thorpes walked in with a smile on his face and sat down in her bed beside her.

“I’m not going to ask what is wrong with you, okay, I for a different reason.” He said to her as she paid attention to him.

“When do you intend to get back to work? I mean, resume work?” He asked her gently.

“Monday,” She responded without thinking.

“Are you sure?” Thorpes was surprised to hear that response from her.

“Yes, One hundred percent sure.” She responded.

“Great then, I guess I’ll leave you to it so that you can prepare.” He said to her and placed a peck on her forehead before leaving.

Right after her dad left her room, she realized Monday she called is the following day and that meant she would see Nathan.

Demelza made up her mind she was going to dress up looking real nice so that he will know what he took advantage of and what he lost.

She set out very nice clothes to wear to work the next day, one pretty enough to make Nathan drool at the sight of her.
