Chapter 58 Sacrificing My Woman
Chapter 58 Sacrificing My Woman
"You mean, you'd sacrifice my woman to capture this syndicate?"
His voice was so cold it seemed to come from a glacier. Chandler nodded his head in
silent acquiescence. They had no choice.
"You can try!" Henry left him a cold glare before turning to leave.
Lucas immediately followed him out. "What are you going to do if they really can't save Luz?"
"I'll save her myself."
There was no hesitation in his answer. Lucas was silent for a moment. "If you love her so much, why
did you agree to the divorce? Forget it. There are three points of interest now. We can only target one
of them, or wait and see if they're going to ask to exchange the women for their men that the police
captured."
"We can't wait. I recall that ten years ago, Gefeag Wood had a nuclear energy project that the
government forced them to abandon due to environmental issues?"
Henry stared coldly in the direction of Gefeag Wood. It was hard to say if those people would ask for an
exchange. Moreover, he could not bear the thought that Luz might not be able to hold on any longer.
"I really hope you two are telepathic."
Lucas sighed and went to prepare for everything that could be used in Gefeag Wood. If he made the
wrong choice, he might miss the best time to save the women. He didn't dare to think about the
consequences.
......
When Luz woke up again, all she could see was green. Once her mind cleared, she found that they
were surrounded by a green forest, and they were locked in an abandoned shipment container.
"Mia, wake up."
Labouriously, she used her shoulder to nudge Mia, who was still unconscious beside her. Her eyes
were scanning the surroundings warily. Where had the drug dealers brought them?
Mia opened her eyes groggily. The pain in her neck reminded her of the way she was knocked
unconscious.
"Luz, where are we?"
"How would I know?"She had left the country for seven years. The country had developed quickly
during the seven years she was gone. Even if nothing had changed, her memories would have faded.
Mia wanted to move her body, but the rope that bound her restricted her movements. She stared at the
dense trees outside. "I think we're in a forest at the south of North City."
However, there were quite a few dense mountain forests in the southern part of North City. It was
impossible to determine their exact location.
When both of them were panicking, footsteps came from outside. "B*tches, the food's here."
The man who was injured by Luz threw two bags of bread towards them. His eyes were gleaming with
malicious mirth. "Eat like a dog if you're hungry!"
"I should've aimed properly before I shot." Luz mumbled, but the man grabbed her hair. His eyes were
fierce.
"Bitch, don't think that I wouldn't dare to kill you."
"How are you going to get your companions back if we're dead?" Mia said hurriedly. The man spat on
the floor. "I'll kill you once we're done." He left angrily.
She hadn't eaten anything since last night. In addition, she had been injured, so her energy was almost
completely drained. Luz tried to reach out, but she couldn't reach the bread with her hands tied behind
her back.
"Would you rather eat from the floor or use your feet?"
A smile appeared on her pale lips. Since they could not escape, the only thing they could do was to eat
their fill. At least, they could keep their physical strength, so that they would have the energy to wait for
rescue.
"What do you think?" The corners of Mia's lips curled into a smile. In times like these, it was better to
look ugly than to lose dignity.
The two women slipped off their shoes. Thankfully, they were quite flexible. Their toes might not be as
agile as their fingers, but it was enough to grab the bread.
"If anyone takes a photo of me now, I will beat him to death."
Luz tried to relieve the tension and fear as they ate. When would the police arrive?
Logan must have been worried out of his mind when she did not return home last night. So would Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Grandma. She thought of another person, with his cold and distant face, and wondered if he would
worry about her as well.
Above Gefeag Wood, a helicopter was hovering in the air. Henry was holding a pair of binoculars.
Since the scanner could not find the exact hiding spot, he would have to use his own eyes.
"Henry, the police called. The drug dealers are asking to exchange the hostages for their men. The
exchange location is not far from here, at the Gefeag Wood Road."
As Lucas spoke, there was a hint of admiration in his eyes. Could it be that these two people, who had
been divorced for seven years, were really telepathic? How else would he have guessed the correct
location?
"What did they say?"
He tightened his grip on the binoculars and asked calmly.
"What else could they say? They will try their best to get the hostages to safety." Lucan shrugged. It
was clearly a diplomatic approach.
"You don't have to go with me."
Henry narrowed his eyes. The police were clear, they would stop at nothing to ensure the success of
their operation.
"What are you talking about? We grew up together. When have we not fought side by side? What's
more, your woman and her lawyer friend are my acquaintances too."
Although a few days had passed, he still remembered the serious look on her face.
"Then you'd better not fall behind this time."
"Of course."
The two men exchanged glances. This was not a game. If anything went wrong, it could be game over
for them, and they would not be able to start over.
The dense forest outside the container blocked all connections beyond the forest. Without any signal, it
was the safest hiding spot.
"Isiah, what did the boss say?" The man with the scar followed Isiah carefully. They had botched the
transaction this time. If the boss got angry, they would be in serious trouble.
"What else can he say? You failed in your transaction and two of your men were arrested by the police.
We need to get those two people back, or they'll snitch and tell the police about our locations. If that
happens, you're done for."
"Isiah, it wasn't on purpose. But how would we send word to the police about the exchange from here?"
The scarred man bowed and nodded. All signals were blocked here, so their phones were useless.
"It's none of your business. The boss has contacted them and got the weapons ready. Once the two
women inside are exchanged for your two idiots, find a way to kill them."
Isiah cast a cold glance at the container in the distance. These two women had heard a lot along the
way. Leaving them alive would only cause trouble.
"Isiah, don't worry. They were never going to leave here alive anyway."
The man with the scar grinned. How could he let them leave alive after hurting his people?
Isiah's expression suddenly changed. "What's that sound?"
