Chapter 31 Should I Kneel Down to Beg You?
Chapter 31 Should I Kneel Down to Beg You?
Anna turned around to steal a glance at the Julius at her side and smiled at Allison, “We come all the
way to apologize to you.”
Allison had been muddled-headed and felt even more baffled when hearing that Anna wanted to make
an apology to her.
According to her understating of Anna and Julius, they would not apologize to her; instead, they would
have the almost overwhelming desire to trample over her. How came that they were willing to lower
their heads to make an apology?
But before she could ask the question, Anna nudged Julius and winked at him.
Julius frowned, “Alice, we did it wrong last time. A great man would harbor grievance for past wrongs.
Please, spare us this time. I and Anna are really regretting about it.”
Allison clenched her fists, “Spare you? It was you who wanted to beat me, and you who instructed
Renata to set me up. Shouldn’t I ask you two to spare me?”
Julius’ face turned from livid to red upon hearing the words, “Alice, we admit that we’ve gone too far
last time. But because of this, Aniston Constructions is driven into a corner by Alexander and is now
running out of cash. Isn’t he going too far in this aspect?”
Allison was shocked, “What?”
Aniston Constructions was driven into a corner by Alexander?
Anna chimed in at the side, “Yeah, Allison, as long as you can forgive us, we will agree with all the
compensation you want. We’ll do our best to satisfy you.”
Allison felt in a daze as if countless bees were buzzing in her mind and she couldn’t figure out what to
do at the moment.
She only knew that Alexander didn’t mention about Anna and Julius after that thing and had no idea
about the rupture of the cash chain of Aniston Constructions.
Anna gradually grew impatient since she hadn’t received a response from Allison for a long while. She
pushed Julius and gave him a fierce glare.
Julius understood it soon. Even if he was reluctant, he still bowed and scraped to Allison and continued
to persuade her, “Alice, you’re a kind person, and you won’t bear to see me and Anna sleeping on the
street, right? To top it off, we are not the only members of the Aniston family; other members of the
family are innocent.”
As he was speaking, he reached out to grab Allison by her hand, “Please, at least we were in a
relationship back then. For the sake of it, please intercede with Mr. Parker for us. Alice, please.”
Alice shivered as her hand was suddenly grabbed by Julius. She got goose bumps all over and hastily
withdrew her hand and stepped backward, “I didn’t know about this.”
Julius asked, “Alice, should I kneel down to beg you?”
Alice hesitated, not knowing what to do at the moment. Seeing her hesitant look, Julius stepped back,
intending to kneel down.
“Don’t do this.” Allison hastily stepped backward, “I… I will help you. I’ll intercede with him on behalf of
you…”
Delight crept on Julius’ eyes. He hastily straightened up, “Alice, you’re the kindest person in the world.
I’ve always been clear of it.”
Anna said with surprise written all over her face, “Alice, please do it and thank you.”
They expressed their gratitude one after the other. Allison had a complicated mood and finally pulled
herself together until they turned around and left.
If this was true, she would think this had gone too far. Even if Anna was so vicious that she instigated
someone to plot against her, it was unnecessary to implicate all the staff in Aniston Constructions.
Allison bit her lip, turned around and took the lift in a muddled mind.
She was still jittery after coming back to the office as her mind was filled with this matter.
As she kept thinking about this, she couldn’t calm herself down. It happened that the administrative
department had a new task – to deliver a document to the president’s office. Allison accepted the
mission, hoping to take the opportunity to ask Alexander about this.
Allison knocked at the door of the president’s office, walked in and put the document on the desk. Yet
she showed no intention to leave.
Feeling that something was going wrong, Alexander lifted his head, only to see Allison standing in front
of the desk and staring at him.
Their gazes met in the air. Allison felt her heart missing one beat. It was as if that man was in the
limelight in the office. And his unfathomable eyes seemed to be sucking her soul in.
“Anything else?”
His cold voice pulled her back to the reality instantly.
“I… I have a question.” Allison plucked up herself, “Did you do that thing to Aniston Construction.”
Alexander put the pen onto the desk with a force neither too strong nor too light. He straightened
himself and leaned back, “Yep, I did it.”
“Anna and Julius came to me just now and apologized to me. Only then did I know about this.”
She took a deep breath before adding, “In fact, I think it’s unnecessary to end like this. Anna did have
made a mistake, but it is not unforgivable…”
“Allison Gibson.” Alexander suddenly became sullen. He stared at her and asked, “Did you forget how
they treat you last time?”
Allison bit her lip, “I remember it. But if you retaliate in this manner, many innocent people will be
implicated and staff in her company will lose their jobs. To top it off, the families of these staff will also
suffer.”
Alexander frowned. A few seconds later, he shifted his gaze, “You don’t need to intervene in this
matter. I’ll handle it properly. Anna and Julius deserve this.”
Alexander’s expression suddenly turned cold. Allison was about to say something while glancing at his
cold face, but was interrupted by the footsteps rumbling from behind. At the next moment, there came
Bernard’s voice, “Mr. Parker, Ms. Elaine Hunter is…”
Bernard hastily stopped when he looked up and noticed that there was the other person in the office.
Allison subconsciously tensed up upon hearing the name ‘Elaine Hunter’.
She had heard of this name for several times.
As expected, Alexander’s gaze became colder. Bernard immediately stepped forward and continued to
report by whispering to his ear in a low voice.
Several seconds later, there came Alexander’s gentle voice, “Let she be. Tell her I’ll visit her another
day.”
Bernard nodded and then strode out of the office.
The office was shrouded in silence again.
Allison subconsciously clenched her fists, feeling her chest tightened when reminiscing about the
scene happened just now.
Who the heck was Elaine Hunter? Why Alexander had a dramatic change in his attitude when it came
to her matters? Was she his lover? Then why did he marry her back then?
Various questions flooded into her mind, making her a bit restless at the moment. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Right at this moment, Alexander’s cold and indifferent voice rumbled, “Anything else?”
Allison bit her lip, “I don’t want to investigate into the matter with Anan and Julius, and I hope you can
give them a chance.”
Alexander sneered, “It’s the first time that I see someone putting in good words for the ones who had
brought harm to her in reality.”
After finishing the words, he glanced at the woman meaningfully and quickly shifted his gaze, “I won’t
change my mind. Plus, the things I did to Aniston Constructions were not for your sake.”
Allison froze, not knowing how to reply.
It turned out that she was self-sentimental to think Alexander plotted against Aniston Constructions to
retaliate for her. But she hadn’t expected that…
Her face blushed and was burning hot. She was so embarrassed that she was lost for words. She bit
her lip, turned around, and strode out of the office.
Who was Elaine Hunter?
The more Allison thought of this, the more restless she became. Her nose twitched as she felt the urge
to cry.
She came back to the administrative department.
Oliver came over as soon as Allison arrived at the door of the administrative department, “Ms. Gibson,
where have you been? Just now when I sent the document to your office, the phone in your office rang
so I answered it. It was from a gift box supplier. He wanted to have a talk with you.”
Allison immediately came to her own sense upon hearing it and hastily headed towards her office.
No matter what, her major concern for now was the difficulties she encountered in work. She might
consider other things after this was settled.
