Maybelline Walter POV
“Who is she, babe?” The young blonde-haired lady who looked older than Oscar, asked as she looked at me, and I scoffed.
“Babe… That’s May. My ex-girlfriend that I told you about,”
“The one that cheated on you?” My eyes narrowed when the lady said that and glared at me with pure disgust, and I scoffed unbelievably. Me? Cheated?
“Is that what you told her? That I cheated on you?” I was going to cry out of pain before, but no way I was going to look pathetic in front of them, and even though I felt hurt inside, I had to brace myself up.
“Are you stalking me? Did you trace me here so you can beg me to take you back like you’ve been doing? I told you that I’m not interested, so why don’t you leave me the hell alone?” He fired at me, and I was left dumbfounded. I wanted to defend myself, but I was even too shocked to do that, so I just stared back at him wordlessly.
“You didn’t have to feed her with such lies so you can date her, anyway. It’s very obvious you are trying to live off this woman just the way you did to my friend, and she is too foolish to even see that,” Lily stepped forward and sneered at Oscar angrily.
“What is she talking about?” The woman turned to Oscar and asked.
“I wasn’t going to say something, but why allow a fellow woman like myself to become a victim of this scam once again? It makes my heart bleed to see something like this…” I paused, then stepped forward and tucked my hair behind my ear.
“This bastard here you call your boyfriend was my ex-boyfriend… Someone I regret ever crossing paths with. We dated for two years, and I fed and clothed him for those two years, only for him to cheat on me!” I tried to stay calm, but the last words escaped my lips in a high-pitched voice because of my anger.
“We were going to get married, but I’m glad I didn’t make the mistake of ending up with a shameless bastard like this,” I further said, and the woman scoffed.
“Honey, what is she saying? Tell me this is not true. You told me she cheated on you and took everything you’ve ever worked for. Tell me she is lying to me,” The woman was close to tears as she faced Oscar and asked for an explanation.
“Babe, I can explain. She is lying, ok? You know I won’t ever do such a thing. I never did any of that, I promise,” His voice quivered as he tried to explain to the woman, but she glared at him disgustingly.
“You disgust me. To think that you deceived me and I’ve been spending my money on you. I hate you so much! Give me my damn car keys,” The woman snatched the car keys he was holding, then glared hard at him.
“Thank you so much for opening my eyes to see the real bastard in this jerk,” She said to us.
“Whatever!” Lily rolled her eyes, and the woman finally walked away.
“You bitch!” Oscar gritted his teeth and threw us a murderous look before he rushed off.
“Babe… Wait up for me, babe. I can explain,” I heard him say as he ran after the woman.
“That was so sweet. I didn’t know you were going to speak up,” Lily turned to me and smiled, but I only forced a smile, and she sighed.
“Are you ok?” She asked, and a drop of tears slid down my cheek, but I was fast enough to quickly wipe it off. I wasn’t supposed to be shedding tears because of that bastard.
“Hmm. I’m fine,” I nodded.
“Should we go home? Maybe you should get some rest and you’ll be fine,” She suggested as she placed her hand on my shoulders, but I smiled at her.
“I’m really fine. We don’t need to go home. We came here to have fun, so we should do that,”
“I’m really sorry about this. I wouldn’t have brought you here if I had known he was here,” Lily apologized to me with guilt written all over her, and I rolled my eyes.
“Come on, babe. You really don’t have to apologize. I’m not mad at you,” I assured her, and she nodded.
“We should go play something else instead of the claw…”
“No, let’s play that,” I cut her off, then held her hand and dragged her to the claw machine.
I was playing the game and trying to win a teddy bear for my darling friend when someone suddenly pulled me from behind and the next thing that happened was a hot deafening slap that sent me falling roughly to the ground. I heard Lily scream, but my eyes were so blurry that I could barely see anything as I held my cheek in my palm.
“How dare you, shameless prostitute! How dare you do that to me!” Oscar’s furious voice resonated in the atmosphere, followed by Lily’s yelp accompanied by a loud metallic sound and I presumed that he pushed her.
“Lily, are you ok?” Even though I could barely see, I tried to stand up, but a hand grabbed my arm roughly and another slap landed across the other side of my cheek, and before I could do anything, he grabbed my neck and started to choke me.
“Let me go, Oscar! Let me go,” I could barely cry out, but I still did as I managed to open my eyes to find his eyes piercing at me furiously. He looked like he was determined to kill me.
I was still trying to free myself from his grasp when someone hit him from behind and he finally let go of me, sending me roughly to the ground.
“How dare you touch her! Do you want to die?” A strange angry voice thundered and I heard Oscar yelp in pain when a punch landed on his face.
Everything felt blurry to me and I could barely see anything. My eyes were slowly closing, and just then, I saw the figure of someone towering over me.
“May? Are you ok?” The strange deep masculine voice asked as his pair of brown eyes pierced into mine. I was sure that this person was not Mr. Miles, but I couldn’t tell who he was.
“Lily…” Was the last thing I could say before my eyes slowly went close and that was the only thing I could remember happening as I blacked out…
