Chapter 11 Devil Woman
Viola took a glance at him and gave a perfunctory answer, “Ok, ok.”
Steven let go of her and followed her into the cafe.
Only a few of people were in the café. Viola was suspicious, outside the parking lot were at least
hundreds of cars, why were so few people here? Did they all go riding horses?
Viola walked across the hall to a small table in the corner, where sat a man in a baseball cap.
“What did you find, Mike?” Viola sat down, crossing her legs and playing with her sunglasses.
Mike kept highly vigilance, as he was to open his mouth, he got tense as he saw a person.
Viola narrowed her eyes and followed along his sight. It was Steven. Shrewd could not be seen in her
eyes. “What are you afraid of?”
Mike immediately came back to his sense, looked uneasy, but soon he opened his mouth, “Well,
nothing, I am just vigilant.”
Hearing that, Viola gave a faint smile, threw her sunglasses on the table, “There are few people in this
café and you are not doing shady work, you just helped me investigate some things.”
Mike lowered his head, baseball cap edge blocking his mouth. With both of his hands on his knees, he
took a deep breath, to hide his psychological guilty.
It was a long time before he raised his head and said slowly, “There is nothing wrong with the horse
farm. I misjudged it before.”
With unchanged facial expression, she raised her jaw and looked at him in a condescending manner,
“Mike, what happened? You have different statement before.”
Mike did not think it carefully, he added to make Viola convincing, “I have investigated the horse farm’s Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
owner Patrick, including his social relations and economic status, there is no mistake. And I've checked
all the records on the horse farm for the last fifty years. There's no problem.”
“Mike.” Viola picked up the edge of his hat with her index finger suddenly, which stunned Mike.
Subconsciously he wanted to put aside her hand, but before he touched her, Viola pressed his hand on
the table.
As the edge of his hat was lifted, his bearded face and slightly startled eyes were revealed.
“You know very well what will happen if I find out you are lying.”
The smile on her face was still decent, but chill emanating from her beautiful eyes, like a knife on his
neck, which made his breathing difficult.
Mike swallowed, feeling dry in his throat. It occurred to him that this woman was ruthless and she had
powerful forces behind.
But on the other hand, something more horrible than this woman immediately came to his mind, and he
hurriedly averted his eyes to where Steven was sitting.
“I... I'm not lying to you! I know the consequences, and I won't lie.”
Mike’s reaction did not escape from the eyes of Viola.
So Steven was related!
Viola sneered and let go of his hand, “Good.”
Mike almost immediately stood up and was to flee away like he got amnesty.
Viola raised her eyebrow, “Wait.”
