Chapter 7
Chapter 7
“Gi-“Bernard stood up excitedly, but he had no chance to continue.
Dorian, who was sitting beside him, frowned. His piercing gaze scrutinized the masked Gisele from head to toe.
Under his unabashedly fiery gaze, Dorian sneered mockingly. “You played hard to get by running away from home. Now, you’re following me around.”
“Mr. Jefferson, you’re overthinking.” Gisele briefly glanced at him with an unbothered expression before returning her attention to Bernard.
Bernard covered his m*uth with a handkerchief he carried with him, preventing himself from screaming.
Gigi Toby Fluff was standing before him!
Dorian leaned back in his chair, tilting his chin up to look at her. His deep voice was filled with displeasure as he said, “If you want to go home, go now. If not, hand over the keys.”
Gisele knew it. He wanted her to make way for Sierra, but he made it seem like she was the one being disobedient and unreasonable.
Gisele stood silently at the doorway, with the light shining behind her. Her fair skin.
appeared even more translucently pale under the light. Even the tiny pores on her ch*eks were visible.
The white mask concealed her downturned l*ps. Her large eyes reflected a subtle sense of fragility.
So, the man she had loved for three years could become uncouth to defend his lover.
A throbbing pain seized her heart as if it were being gnawed at by thousands of ants. Yet, there was nothing she could do apart from straighten her back.
“Okay.” Gisele stared straight into Dorian’s emotionless, black eyes and strode toward him.
Still seated, Dorian remained motionless. In his eyes, Gisele was playing hard to get again. He didn’t understand why she never got tired of such childish antics.
Gisele walked up to him and took out a set of keys, which she’d had for three years, from her bag.
She clenched the keys tightly. The cold metal dug painfully into her soft palm, yet she seemed numb to the pain. 1
“Here, take it,” Gisele said softly, opening her fair palm.
Dorlan’s brows, which had just relaxed, furrowed once again. Did she mean to return the key?
He hesitantly took the keys. Before he could speak, Gisele leaned in. Caught off guard by their abrupt proximity, Dorian froze.
His nose filled with her faint herbal scent, which was soothing to the heart and mind.
At the same time, an inexplicable sense of pride and irritation ignited within him. Couldn’t Gisele keep her word?
Gisele saw the subtle expressions on his face up close. It was only a moment, but she saw it all too clearly–he hated her being near him.
Suddenly, strange sounds echoed in the silent conference room. Bernard looked at the two
of them in confusion.
Gisele’s hand moved swiftly and precisely. She used her index and middle fingers to strike several of Dorian’s acupuncture points.
Dorian’s composed expression turned pale in an instant, and his thin l*ps turned purple. His posture was hunched due to dizziness and pain from the acupuncture strikes.
Right after her attack, Gisele’s face showed annoyance as she muttered, “Too noisy.”
Forced to lean on the table, Dorian mustered his willpower to lift his head again.
The dizziness made him feel like he could pass out at any moment. Enduring the discomfort, he clenched his hands on the table, his veins bulging on his forehead.
His usually calm black eyes now seemed stormy, like a violent tempest. He glared at Gisele with a bloodthirsty look in his eyes.
Bernard stared at them blankly, his gaze shifting between Dorian and Gisele.
“My idol!” He snapped out of his daze, covering his m*uth with a handkerchief in
amazement.
Doctors typically used silver needles to stimulate acupoints for healing effects.
But Gisele’s strikes had been precise, hitting each point accurately with the right pressure. Dorian had had no chance to resist. It likely required at least a decade of practice to achieve this level of precision.
Dorian endured the dizziness and tried to speak, but he found that he couldn’t make a sound.
“Hello, I’m Gigi Toby Fluff. I’m here to sign the contract,” Gisele sald. She exuded a gentle air. It seemed as if she wasn’t the same woman who had ruthlessly struck Dorlan a moment
ago.
Bernard excitedly shook her hand. He completely ignored Dorian, who was dizzy and sweating profusely on the table.
“Please have a seat. We were supposed to have a test of your medical skills before signing the contract. But since I witnessed your skills a few minutes ago, it’s not necessary anymore.
Bernard smiled in admiration as he retrieved the contract. “This is the contract for our
show. Please take a look. If there are no issues, we can sign it now.”
“Okay.”
Gisele placed her bag down. She sat across from Bernard and carefully read through the
contract.
Dorian narrowed his eyes. He was so dizzy that he saw two Giseles and then multiple Giseles.
But no matter how many Giseles there were, her side profile was so perfect that it was hard to look away. The mask covered half her face, but it couldn’t conceal her high–bridged nose.
Those large eyes that had used to gaze at him timidly now shone with confidence, exuding a radiant glow. In that instant, Dorian recognized Gisele as a precious gem, sparkling and enchanting.
“Mr. Murray, most of the terms look fine. About the drugs and equipment mentioned, can I accompany you when selecting the partners for those?”
Gisele closed the file, smiling confidently. “I believe any company collaborating with Murray Corp. must be reputable. But someone with expertise can notice more details.”
After a brief moment of consideration, Bernard accepted her suggestion. “That’s reasonable. No problem”
“Additionally, I may not be able to disclose prescriptions or medicinal diets.”
Gisele raised another concern. “Each person’s condition is different. Some remedies can be used by anyone, but nowadays, many people don’t pay attention to their health. Any misuse. of medication can lead to adverse reactions.”
It was also a measure to prevent viewers from trying to self–medicate after watching the
show.
Bernard’s eyes
lit up, and he chuckled. “You’re right. You’re raising this concern for all our sakes. I have absolutely no problem with that.”
“Alright.” Gisele had no other issues. She took the pen and elegantly signed the contract.
There were two copies of the contract. After signing, Gisele took her copy and stood up, preparing to leave. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Bernard looked at the cool and confident Gisele with the utmost admiration.
As he rose to see her off, Dorian, who had been lying on the table, suddenly found some strength and grabbed Bernard.
His crimson eyes looked threatening as he forcefully pinned Bernard’s shoulders down.
Bernard immediately understood Dorian’s intentions and exclaimed, “What about him? He looks like he’s getting worse. He can’t speak, and he’s constantly sweating.”
Gisele, who was at the door, turned back in confusion, as if she had only just remembered
Dorian.
“A hard slap can snap him out of this state.” Gisele’s voice, soft, innocent, and pure, resonated through the area.
Slap Dorian? Hard?
Bernard blinked his charismatic eyes, giving Dorian an ambiguous smile.
