Chasing Back My Ex-wife

Chapter 68

Chapter 68

The Figueroa family.

"Mommy still hasn't called?" Caden was wearing his Spongebob pajamas and his face was filled with disappointment.

Kylah was sitting next to him, wearing the same pajamas. She yawned and said, "Yeah, she hasn't called. Caden, let's go to bed first. We'll wait for her call tomorrow!"

She lay down and closed her eyes.

"No!" Caden refused angrily. Then, he took Kylah's phone and called his mother.

He missed his mommy so much. It was as though he was lovesick!

No one answered the first time.

The second time, no one answered either.

Caden called five times in a row, but no one answered the phone.

"Stop calling, kiddo!" Kylah forced her eyes open and sat up, then yawned again. "Your mommy is with your bad daddy. She won't dare answer your call. Go to bed."

"Why won't mommy dare to answer my call?"

"Because she's afraid of your sc*mbag daddy finding out and snatching her custody rights!"

Caden puffed out his cheeks and clenched his little fists, not speaking for a long time.

"Oh dear, are you crying?" Kylah opened her eyes, and when she saw his red-rimmed eyes, she panicked. "Don't cry, don't cry. If you cry, I'm going to get into deep trouble!"

Mr. and Mrs. Figueroa treasured Caden way more than their own daughter!

"Who's crying!" Caden glared at her, lay down, and covered his teary eyes with the blanket.

He would definitely grow up to be a strong man and protect his mother from being bullied by his father!

However, he couldn't protect his mommy now. He was really angry!

"Kiddo, I already saw you crying. There's no use hiding under the blanket now. Don't pull it so tightly over you, or who's going to be responsible if you suffocate?" Kylah tugged hard on the blanket.

Caden clung to the blanket with all his might, refusing to let go.

Ring—

Ring—

Her phone was ringing.

Kylah grabbed her phone, and when she saw the caller ID, her face darkened at once.

"I'm going outside to answer a phone call. Don't suffocate!" She kicked Caden lightly.

Only when Caden let out a muffled answer from under the blanket did she go outside in relief.

The night breeze was a little strong. It blew along the corridor through the window, all the way into Kylah's heart, icy cold.

"Kylah, I'm getting married on the 15th of next month." Oliver's voice was very calm.

After he finished speaking, she didn't answer him, and he didn't say anything more.

Both of them were silent, and they could only hear each other's breathing on the phone.

Kylah had always thought she had moved on from the breakup, but only when she heard his voice did she realize that she had merely locked up her memories of them in the back of her mind.

They had lived together for ten years and known each other for twelve years, but all she got in the end was him saying he was getting married. What a joke! © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

"Why did you f*cking call me to tell me this? Don't tell me you expect me to attend your wedding?" She deliberately lowered her voice, but he could still hear the tears in her voice.

After a while, Oliver said a little sadly, "Yea, I'd like you to attend my wedding. Kylah, I won't get to marry you in this life, but...I wish to see you at my wedding."

"Who the hell do you think you are! What makes you think I'll go just because you want me to?" Kylah

was afraid that others would hear her, so she growled in a low voice, "You b*stard, I'm telling you, I won't go! I won't wish you and another woman happiness!"

With that, she hung up and let her tears flow down her face until they dripped onto the floor.

Ding—

Oliver sent her a text.

"Who would read his f*cking text?!" Kylah cursed, wiped the tears on her face, but still clicked on the text.

"When I met you, I used up all my luck, when I left you, I used up all my courage. I was not afraid of meeting you, just afraid of meeting you at the wrong time. I've let you down. I'll say this one last time, Kylah, I love you. I love you with all my heart!"

Reading the text, Kylah covered her mouth and cried like a fool.

Why?

Why had he wanted the breakup but was still acting like the victim? Who was he putting on a show for?

...

At Lindbarry Chateau.

The lights were off, and the moonlight cast vivid shadows on the floor through the curtains.

Lucy was lying on the bed with her whole body tensed up. Her hands gripped the blanket uneasily as she stared up at the ceiling, her heart pounding.

Even though there was a gap between her and Arthur, she could still feel his body heat.

"!" Lucy's eyes widened and her entire body went as taut as a wire.

Arthur...couldn't hold back any longer?

Before she could ponder it any further, he pulled her into his warm embrace, and all she could smell was his faint cologne.

"Lucy." He called out hoarsely and hugged her tightly.
