Chapter 98
As they began to work hand in hand with Sophie a lot of things seem to have changed.
Sydney and Sophie’s advertisement plan ran into turbulent waters when a rival company came up with their competitive projects.
The new proposals presented an unexpected challenge for the advertising team, as the market dynamics shifted overnight.
White Corporation, Sydney’s employer, and the advertising agency CEO, Sophie, were thrown into a tailspin as they struggled to keep up with the upcoming rival campaigns.
Initially, the team had been working seamlessly, collaborating to develop a solid and competitive plan that would stand out in the market.
However, with the new competition, they suddenly found themselves on the back foot, with their original plan lacking the punch to stand up to the new proposals.
Sophie and Sydney had to face some harsh realities, and they knew they needed to go back to the drawing board if they wanted to secure a win.
Overcoming the challenge proved to be no easy task, dictated by the need to forge a new plan quickly. New strategies were developed, and the team had to work tirelessly to ensure they stayed positive.
As it was Sydney decided to go back to the office where she met Paxton in the corridor and he began a conversation to know how far the project was going.
“Good morning sir,” she said as she raised her head and greeted him as he walked close to her.
Good morning Sydney, how’s the project coming along?” asked Paxton as he walked into her office.
She had a gloomy look on her face and she was sure not to make it seem as though the world was coming to an end but what choice did she have?
The once energetic workers of the two seemed to be lacking and she had to cover up for them at the end of the day.
And having to deal with a new competitor in the market was another struggle she wished never existed because she had to find out new strategies for that.
“Well, to be honest, things are not going as planned,” replied Sydney with a worried look on her face. Whenever she felt this down she would try to calm herself with a cup of coffee or anything watery but today it didn’t work at all as all she could think of was the fact that she just might be a failure as the days unfolded.
“We’re behind schedule and some team members are not completing their tasks on time.”
Paxton listened carefully and then said, “I understand your concerns. Let’s sit down together and review the project plan.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
We can identify where we’re falling behind and come up with solutions to get back on track.
And if there are team members who are not meeting expectations, we’ll have a discussion with them to see how we can better support them.
Remember, we’re a team and we’re in this together.” Sydney felt relieved that Paxton was supportive and was wig to work with her to overcome the current challenges”. Paxton explained when heard what she had said.
“Good morning Ms Sydney” They all greeted as Sydney made her way into the room where they all sat and were carrying out their duties of the day.
Judging from the way she looked they all knew something was up and they couldn’t pinpoint why she was like that but they all knew something was up, so they waited to hear her speak.
“Good morning, production team” she greeted them back.
At this point, they all knew something was wrong and they couldn’t help but wait to hear what she had to say.
” As you all know, we are currently running behind schedule, and we have some serious deadlines coming up.
We all need to step up our game in the coming weeks to ensure that we meet our targets.
There’s a lot of pressure on us right now, and I am counting on all of you to give your best efforts to ensure we deliver excellent work.
If we continue at our current pace, we risk losing valuable clients, and some of you may lose your job due to inefficient work.
I know that we are capable of achieving great things if we work together as a team, so let’s start pushing ourselves to do better.” she said looking up to see if they were any objections or if anyone had something to say.
When no one spoke she continued.
“As a production team, we are always striving to produce high-quality work and deliver projects on time.
However, we all need to understand that there is no room for inefficiency in this competitive industry.
Customers do expect not music is our obligation to deliver excellent work. If we continue to underperform, we might just have wasted our efforts and that would go a long way to mess up our hard work when you do not receive your remuneration who would be blamed?..
You all come to me with complaints as to how we have undervalued you guys but then again you guys are not working effectively, I didn’t want it to get to this point but you all are pushing me to do that” she spoke.
“Is there anyone else who might have something to say to me?” She asked and everyone was the tight lip.
“If you don’t have anything to say I wouldn’t like to come back here and see you guys chitchatting instead of working because we need more fingers clicking than having small talks about irrelevant things at the moment.
We have a great competitor and if we lose to them ill personally make sure you all lose your jobs, is that clear?”
“Yes Ms Sydney” they answered and she left the room.
Sydney knew she was harsh but how could she not be when they’ll be making her stressed at every given point she had tried her best and building a brand was not only for a day.
