Chapter 80
The other team members had been working round the clock for the past few days. Thus, when the sun began to rise and Niamh announced that they were done, everyone let out a sigh of relief. They didn't have time to go back to their homes. They just fell asleep right
there.
"Are you sure this is alright?" Quinn still didn't feel very sure.
Even though she didn't care much about this deal, she had spent several all-nighters on it. She naturally didn't want her effort to go to waste. ""Yes, it's ready," Niamh said.
"Great!" Quinn nodded and shut her laptop. Then, she took a sip of her
coffee.
After several long nights, coffee was no longer effective in keeping them awake. Everyone's minds were foggy.
Niamh arrived at Leopardbite Intl. office.
When Tracy saw her flushed face, she asked with concern, "Are you alright?"
Niamh nodded. "I'm fine!"
She was actually running a fever and was feeling woozy on her feet.
Tracy glanced at the time. "It's still early. Why don't you grab a bite to eat
first?"
Niamh shook her head. "No, thanks."
Once she got this over with, she could eat anything she wanted. Not to mention, she didn't think she could stomach any food right now. Tracy found some flu medication and handed it to her. "I think you're
running a fever. You should take this."
"Thank you," Niamh said, shooting Trady a grateful look.
Until now, she still didn't know Tracy's name. Yet, the latter had treated her with more warmth than Castiel ever had.
Since when did Castiel become less than a stranger in her world?
How had she not noticed all this time?
At that moment, she was more than certain that she wanted to divorce him, especially when she thought about what happened last night.
Although she had already had her suspicions, it was still shocking to see with her own eyes that Macy wasn't actually blind.
When Blake arrived, he found Niamh asleep on the sofa in the reception area. Tracy had even kindly draped a blanket over her.
"Hello, Mr. Field," Tracy said respectfully when she saw him.
"What's the meaning of this?" Blake asked coldly as his cool gaze landed
on Niamh.
Tracy's heart stopped. She had always known that Blake was very strict when it came to work. Niamh's behavior absolutely wouldn't fly in the company.
Also, Blake was half an hour early today. By the time she noticed his presence, it was already too late to wake Niamh.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Thinking about how hard Niamh had been working over the past few days, Tracy drummed up the courage and said, "Ms. Weaver has always been at stickler for propriety, but she's running a fever today. It might be the flu medication I gave her that made her drowsy!" She was standing up for Niamh.
Hearing the sound of voices, Niamh woke up blearily. The moment she
saw Blake, she forced herself awake.
She got up and stood there stiffly. "Mr. Field, I-I'm sorry..."
Falling asleep in one's business partner's office was unacceptable. At that moment, she really wanted to strangle herself.
Fortunately, Blake didn't make a big deal out of it. He walked toward the elevator.
Nathan followed after him. "Quick, follow us," he sai to Niamh.
"Oh, okay!"
Niamh ran after them.
Once again, she gave Tracy a grateful look.
In the elevator, the air felt a bit tense. Niamh stood in the corner. However, no matter how hard she tried to shrink herself, the two towering figures in front of her still made it hard to breathe. They walked to Blake's office. Blake sat down and opened his laptop. He tugged at his necktie, seeming a little irritated.
Was he... in a bad mood?
