Burned Once, Never Again (Niamh and Castiel)

Chapter 76

Niamh didn't want to have any further entanglement with Castiel at all.

Castiel's face instantly darkened. No matter the situation, she always brought up divorce. Even now, she didn't forget to set divorce as her condition.

Niamh looked at him defiantly. Although she had already given up on him, she wanted to see how he would decide. She said, "I'll apologize, but only if you divorce me first!" Divorce, apologize!

Castiel locked eyes with Niamh, and the two stood in silent confrontation for what felt like an eternity.

At last, Castiel laughed. It was a laugh that seemed inexplicable.

"What are you laughing at?" Niamh asked.

"You'll stop at nothing to rid yourself of me! Do I disgust you that much now?" he asked in response.

"From the moment you got involved with Macy, you should've known this day would come between us. So why are you still forcing me to stay?" Niamh replied.

Castiel realized that, to her, his hesitation was nothing more than forcing her to stay. He took a deep breath and looked at Niamh. The warmth and patience in his eyes were completely replaced by coldness. He demanded, "Go apologize."

Upon hearing that, Niamh's heart sank instantly. Even though she had lost all feelings for Castiel, standing before him now made her feel like she had fallen into a deep void.

She glared at him fiercely. "Fine!" Her voice was calm and emotionless.

Turning around, she walked toward Macy's ward. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

Looking at her cold, emotionless back, Castiel felt his heart sink deeply. He had once urged her to apologize to Macy, but she always resisted. Now, he couldn't believe she was so desperate to distance herself from him.

The door to the ward was pushed open, and Niamh froze for a moment as she looked at Macy, who was comfortably lying on the bed with headphones on. She instinctively glanced toward Castiel, who was watching her intently.

At that moment, Niamh's mind went blank, followed by shock. Turning back, she met Macy's bright eyes, which were so captivating they didn't seem to belong to someone who was blind.

At that moment, Niamh found herself momentarily breathless.

Macy was startled when she saw Niamh. It was nearly midnight, and she clearly hadn't expected Niamh to show up at this hour.

Internally, she was quite annoyed, though she maintained a facade of nonchalance. The hatred in her eyes remained concealed.

In front of Niamh, she calmly picked up the white cloth from the cabinet and wrapped it around her eyes.

Niamh wanted to say something but was too stunned to utter a word. The next moment, she saw Macy knock the glass bottle off the cabinet by the bed, and it fell to the floor with a loud crash. Macy then screamed in agony.

Niamh was momentarily at a loss for words. Suddenly, a rush of wind swept past her.

Castiel charged into the ward and found Macy lying on the floor. Her

hands were pressing against the floor, and her palms were wounded by the broken pieces of glass, with large drops of blood oozing out. The sight. was incredibly gruesome. Castiel grabbed her hand and said, "Don't move."

Castiel turned and yelled, "Get a doctor immediately!"
