Chapter 51: The Girl Loved Him with Her Life
Chapter 51: The Girl Loved Him with Her Life
Jeffrey screwed up his face and stiffened.
“Mr. Harris?”
Lawrence laughed slightly and leaned his head against the bed as if he didn’t notice Jeffrey’s fright.
“Last night, I dreamed what happened years ago when I was in City B. At the time, I was together with
Charlotte.”
Lawrence showed a certain amount of nostalgia when talking about the past.
“I was not sick and didn’t tell she who I really am. Her father thought his daughter was not supposed to
suffer with a poor guy and opposed our relationship. To maintain our relationship, she almost fell out
with her father.”
“On one of my birthday, she was locked at home by her father. But at the midnight, she managed to
escape through a window and drove me to watch the stars on a mountain. However, on our way back
home, a torrential rain poured down, causing a landslide, and we had an accident.”
Lawrence turned to Jeffrey and asked, “Do you know what happened later?” Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
“I was injured and lost my consciousness. She, a girl, carried me all the way home at the dark night.
Because of that, her heels were wounded and she stayed in bed for a month before she was able to
walk again. At that night, we were lost in the mountain and stayed in a cave for two days without any
food or water. To help me survive, she bit at her own hand to feed me with her blood.”
To the present day, Lawrence still clearly remembered how the weak and fragile girl held him tightly
and murmured to him, “Lance, don’t fear. If my blood is not enough, I can feed you with my flesh.
Whatever it takes, I’ll never regret loving you!”
Before hearing the story, Jeffrey assumed that Lawrence had been living on because of Allison’s blood.
As a matter of fact, Allison’s blood only kept Lawrence from pain and getting ugly. What really made
him stay was his hatred toward Charlotte.
Lawrence couldn’t understand why the girl, who once loved him with her life, gave up on him so easily?
Jeffrey dropped to his knees before Lawrence finished.
“Mr. Harris, I am sorry. I lied.” Jeffrey had a prejudice against Charlotte from the very first.
Lawrence sneered.
“Allison took my phone to cut me off from outside. The financial news I watched on TV was what she
wanted me to know. Jeffrey, you really think I am an idiot?”
“I’ve been waiting for you to tell the truth these days. But surprisingly, you are a tough guy!”
Jeffrey straightened up his back, showing deep regret on his face.
“Sorry, Mr. Harris. It was my fault. I thought Miss Garcia was a burden on you, so … You saved me
from the fire, so if you want to kick me out, take my life first!”
While he was speaking, Jeffrey took out a sharp knife from his pocket and handed it to Lawrence.
“Enough!”
Lawrence’s eyes darkened and he kicked the knife away. He seemed to be tired, leaning back against
the bed, closing his eyes, and asked in a low voice.
“Where is she?”
Jeffrey didn’t dare to hide the truth and murmured while lowered his head.
“She is in the suburban prison ….”
Lawrence was stunned. A feeling of rage began to creep over him, creating a tense atmosphere.
Instantly, he thought of something and smiled with his eyelids lowered.
“Let her stay there as she likes ...”
