Black Rose: Revenge Of The Callous Heiress

Chapter 18

The moment Sophia heard footsteps coming the stairs she turned around and a gasp escaped her mouth when she saw Rose. Earlier when she entered Rose's room, she was taken aback by her beautiful face but had composed herself but seeing her now fully dressed,

Sophia was unable to control herself, her eyes burning with jealousy as she stared at Rose up and down.

Rose was wearing a black spaghetti string-strap knee-length gown, a small cropped jacket, she matched her dress with a black leather platform ankle boots. She had her long hair tied up in a half up and half down ponytail, leaving a few strands falling in front of her face. Everything Rose was wearing was practically black and this black dress was the only good cloth that caught her attention among the varieties of dresses she had.

"Wow, sister, you look stunning in this black dress." Sophia suddenly commented, quickly flashing a smile on her face.

"Let's go." Rose said when she got to where Sophia was standing and made her way to the entrance door. She acted like she hadn't noticed the jealous look in her eyes when she walked down the stairs. 'You've learned a lot from your mother.' Rose thought as she walked in front of Sophia.

The driver was already waiting outside. Seeing the two ladies coming, he hurriedly got out of the car and opened the door for them. "To Diamond bank." Sophia told the driver with a grin on her face.

Roseline had kept all her jewelry in the safe at the bank, and she was the only one who had the key, her fingerprint. The driver glanced at the two girls in the rear-view mirror, the younger one was beaming with joy while the older one was lifeless and emotionless. He sighed silently, feeling sorry for Rose, and started the engine.

When they got to the city center, Rose suddenly asked the driver to stop.

"Sister, why are we stopping here? Do you have something you want to get here?" Sophia asked, curiosity burning in her eyes.

"Follow me." Rose didn't bother to entertain her curiosity. She got out of the car and walked straight to the BlueGold Jewellery store, one of the best jewelry shops in Los Angeles. They had the trendiest styles. Every piece was designed by top designers from around the world, exquisite and extremely expensive. And only those with tremendous fortune could afford it.

The salesgirls observed their attire and knew they were potential customers. They had enough experience to tell if one could afford to buy a piece of jewelry from their store in a few seconds' time. They quickly swarmed towards the two girls with great determination to make sales.

"Welcome to our store, how can I be of assistance to you." A lady greeted them with a professional smile. She was wearing a different uniform apart from the ones the other sales ladies in the store were wearing. And Rose could guess that she was one of the high ranking staff here in this jewelry shop- probably a section Manager.

Rose looked at the woman and responded calmly to her hospitality, "Please get us the best jewelry in your shop." She requested.

Her mannerism was of elegance and grace. One could easily tell that she was from a noble and wealthy family.

On hearing that, the woman's face glowed with joy. The section Manager hurried forward and brought them the finest items.

Rose picked up a few glittering ones, before turning to look at Sophia and smiled at her. "Here, sis, pick whichever you like. We shall get you some new ones to match with your dress for the party."

Rose was aware that her step-mum was a VIP customer at the shop, that was why she had chosen to stop at this particular jewelry shop because she could put the payment of the jewelry on her tab. Sophia just followed behind Rose passively, puzzled, and wondering what was going on. 'What is she up to?' She thought to herself.

"Sister, why are you buying another piece of jewelry here?" Sophia queried.

"They are not for me, but you. Didn't you say you need jewelry to match the dress you want to wear to the party? Take one here." Rose calmly replied without bothering to look at Sophia. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

"W-wait, for me?! I don't need jewelry from here. I thought you wanted to lend me one of yours?" Sophia replied, taken aback by what Rose said.

She didn't need more jewelry as she had gotten plenty from her parents. What she really wanted was to take away all that Roseline had.

Moreover, those that Rose's mother left for her were the best of all, far more valuable and priceless than any items in the shop.

Rose sneered in her heart at the words. 'Thinking Lend? Huh? I'vedent you so many things. When have you ever returned any? The jewelry was from my mother. You don't deserve to wear them at all.'

She disguised her real feelings perfectly and replied tenderly, "You are the daughter of the Gray's, my pretty little sister. Of course, dad would love to see you dressed in your best at the party. Why would he get angry? It will only bring pride to him. Come now, pick your favorite."

Everyone at the shop was pleased with what they heard. What a loving sister, Roseline, was.

"The Grays? Young Miss, are the older daughter of the Gray family?"

"You have never made your appearance in public. Miss Gray. You are so kind, loving and very beautiful."

Rumors had it that the older daughter of the Gray was ugly, bad-tempered, mean, and academically poor. It was also one of the reasons why she had been sent abroad to study harder. Now that people had finally met her in person, it proved the rumors wrong.

"Miss Gray, you are so generous to your younger sister."

"Miss Gray, you are such a nice person."

Everyone was singing her praises. Rose blushed and lowered her head in modesty. People liked her more for that. They had seen so many spoiled rich girls, but Roseline was an exception. Sophia, who was not prepared for this at all. She grit her teeth in anger and frustration, yet she could show neither.

"Sis, really. We don't need to buy any new jewelry."
