4. Someone Came To Take The Kids Away
Lily sat before Mila at one of the most popular restaurant in town. Apparently, she had been invited here by Mila and cause of Mila’s role in her life, she couldn’t deny the invite. Mila was the mathron in the orphanage home she grew up from. Mila gave her special treatment and she never understood why until she left the orphanage.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
After foods and wine had been served at the table, Mila said to her, “Lily, remember how good I was to you those days at the orphanage home?”
“I remember, mama.” Lily answered, wondering what the purpose of this meeting was.
“My dear, I need you leave New York and go back to the city you once were.” She quickly added, “of course I understand that you are here to represent Yenny Designs, but I sense that you are in danger here. I won’t tell you my source, but trust me. It’s safer for you to be out of New York,” she said with a broad and weird smile.
Lily thought about her words and said, “I don’t see any reason why anyone would be after my life? I can’t remember having issues with anyone, mama.”
“You are just a young lady afterall. I have more experience than you do and I’ll advice you to heed to my advice,” Mila persuaded.
“I’m sorry, mama but I can’t dissapoint my company,” Lily insisted. She felt like there was something Mila wasn’t telling her.
“Fine, let’s eat,” she gestured to the food before them and they both began to eat. Lily suddenly bursted out, “mama, you have always given me special care during my days in the orphanage home and I am very grateful to you. I feel like there is something you are not telling me. Perhaps, if you are honest and transparent with me, I may consider what you advised.”
Mila took a few steaks then looked at her, “Amelia is my daughter.”
Lily arched her brow in surprise, “mama, you are Amelia’s mom?”
Mila nodded and said, “you want the truth, right? And I’ll tell you. Mila had been trying hard to win Drake Bell’s heart for years but she had not been successful. Although Drake Bell and Amelia were childhood lovers, Drake Bell didn’t seem to have the same feelings he had for Amelia in the past. Your presence in Drake Bell’s company may ruin all of Amelia’s hardwork.” She paused and added, ” Just as you said, I was good to you during your days in the orphanage, why can’t you repay me now by leaving New York?” Mila felt it was necessary to confess the truth.
Now Lily understood Mila’s actual reason of inviting her here. Lily’s timer beeped on her phone and then she realized that it was the time that Drake Bell and her had agree to have dinner.
“I’ll think about it mama,” she said as she carried her bag,” but just for the record, Drake Bell and I are divorced and will never come back together again. I am and will never be an obstruction to Mila. If she can get Drake Bell, she should. I need to meet with someone now.” She then stood, bade Mila bye and walked away.
After a couple of minutes, Lily entered the VIP section of the most expensive restaurant in New York. She sighted Liam and Sarah seated calmly around a table. Liam signalled with his hand to where Drake Bell sat.
Lily traced the motion of his hand and then walked straight to where Drake Bell was. Immediately she sat before him, she brought out a letter from her small handbag and placed it before him.
Drake Bell’s cute eye fell gently on the letter, seeing the word ‘wedding invitation,’ in bold letters on the letter, he picked it up at once and was shocked to read the content.
He looked at Lily and said, “is this a joke?”
“You may want to confirm from your uncle,” Lily advised.
Drake Bell scoffed coldly, “you are about to get married to my uncle, huh? Where did you meet him? How did you guys suddenly agree on marriage? This better be a prank.”
Lily scoffed, “I already advised you on what to do to confirm, Drake Bell. So what’s the purpose of this dinner?”
Drake Bell picked up his phone and dialed Alexander’s number, soon, his call got answered, “uncle, are you truly getting married to…”
“I am,” a domineering voice responded on the other end.
“You do realize she’s my wife, right?”
“Your ex wife* She’s mine now,” Alexander replied and hung the call up.
Drake Bell placed the phone down and smirked, he looked at Lily and said, “you can’t marry my uncle.”
“It’s not for you to decide,” Lily said firmly, clenching her fist that was on the table.
Did he still think he has the gut to tell her what to do? Lily thought to herself. “If there is nothing else to say, I better take my leave.”
“Let’s eat,” he gestured to the food that was already served before them. This time, his face held no emotions, it was impossible to know what he was thinking.
Lily looked at the food on the table with disinterest, how can she even eat with the man who cruelessly made an attempt to kill her baby in the past. Eating with a murderer? Never.
Lily checked her wrist watch and said, “I have an appointment to catch up to,” after she said this, she stood and walked away without sparing him a glance.
Lily soon began to walk towards where her car was, as she made an attempt to open the door to her car, she turned back instinctively cause she felt like someone was right behind her. To her greatest surprise, she saw Drake Bell standing tall.
He grabbed her arm and pinned her to the body of the car, he looked at her with dominance and said, “in this world, Lily, you can only be mine.”
Lily frowned angrily, “Drake, what the hell is wrong with you? Let me go!” Lily tried to push him away but he was unmovable. Not only was Drake Bell tall, he was also huge.
Lily couldn’t deny the fact that his handsome face was as it use to be, only that she wasn’t moved by it anymore. Lily put in more effort to free herself but he pinned her to the body of the car still. Then in a jiffy, he smashed his lips on her and bite on her lower lips aggressively. Lily made use of all her strength to push him away but it was impossible. He kissed her aggressively until he felt a metallic taste of blood in his mouth. Then he pulled his lips away and mumbled, “Lily… You are making me go insane.” Then he walked away.
Lily stood upright and winced in pain, her lips were already swollen and there was a cut around her lips. “How dare he!” She gnashed her teeth in rage, “I have broken up with him yet he still felt like he owns me.” Lily spat angrily and disgustingly. She got inside the car but before she could start the ignition of the car, her phone rang. Seeing that the caller ID was the new nanny she employed to look after her twin, she answered it at once.
“Ma, a man and a woman had come to take the kids away forcefully, they said they were sent by the kid’s father to bring them to him” Madison, the nanny, said with urgency.
