Chapter 41
Chapter 41
Emma sat quietly on the sofa. Her expression was calm and even carried just the right amount of worry.
She was not worried about whether this was true or not, because there were some things that could not be verified.
If Olivia was Ryan’s mistress, it would be the best outcome. It didn’t matter if she wasn’t.
The Taylor family could not possibly run to Ryan and ask him if Olivia was his mistress.
As long as Olivia sat in Ryan’s car, this was enough. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Even if Olivia denied it, the detectives couldn’t find any concrete evidence. It was useless.
Because she could not prove that she had nothing to do with Ryan.
She was already sitting in Ryan’s car. Did she have the cheek to say that she had nothing to do with him?
Regardless of the relationship, as long as Olivia had such a stain, the Taylor family would not let her marry into the Turner family.
After all, a marriage alliance was for the sake of the future development of the company, not for the sake of making enemies.
Olivia didn’t dare to ignore her grandfather’s call.
Emma could guess her attitude. It was either denial or tacit agreement.
No matter what, Olivia had to come back and explain this matter in person.
At the thought of this, Emma could not control the excitement in her heart.
There was finally going to be a good show to watch.
However, she had thought of all the possibilities, but she did not expect such an outcome.
The person who answered the phone was not Olivia, but Susan.
“Is that Liam?” Susan was very excited. “Olivia is in the laboratory. She can’t come out now. I’ll get her to call you later. What’s the matter?”
Calling back later? It was just a lousy laboratory. Olivia really treated it as her career.
Samuel frowned and said impatiently, “Dad, ask her to call Olivia directly.”
Liam ignored Samuel and started chatting with Susan. “Are you Olivia’s assistant?”
“Yes, I’m Olivia’s life assistant. My name is Susan,” Susan introduced herself enthusiastically.
“Oh.” Liam smiled. “Previously, my family wanted to hire a life assistant for Olivia. I didn’t expect her to hire one herself.”
Upon hearing this, Susan felt a little embarrassed. She scratched her head and said, “I wasn’t chosen by Olivia. I was originally Charm’s employee. Mr. Book chose me.”
In fact, Susan was not the best. She was young and about Olivia’s age, so Ryan thought that they might have something in common, so he let her be Olivia’s life assistant.
She actually mentioned Mr. Book so easily.
Liam’s phone was not on speaker, but he was old and had poor hearing, so the volume of the call was very loud. The living room was extremely
quiet, so everyone could hear it clearly.
Samuel started to frown.
Amelia was also nervous. It seemed that Ryan was very concerned about Olivia. Could it be that Olivia was not a mistress but the two of them were in a serious relationship?
Liam paused and asked, “Mr. Book from Charm?”
“Yes, yes,” Susan explained non–stop. “It’s Charm.” She could hear Liam’s confusion, so she explained further, “Olivia is the leading researcher and developer of Charm.”
Everyone in the living room was stunned when they heard this.
They had almost forgotten that Olivia was a top student in biology. She was already a postgraduate student and would definitely cooperate with mentors and well–known companies.
However, the strange thing was that she was just a researcher and developer. Why would Ryan assign her a life assistant? Even scientists did not have one.
Liam also thought of this. He chuckled and asked jokingly, “Your company’s benefits are so good. As a researcher and developer, Olivia even has a car and a life assistant.”
Susan also smiled. She thought that this kind old man was joking with her. “Yes, our company’s welfare is very good, but Ms. Taylor is different.”
At this point, her tone became more serious. She no longer called her Olivia but Ms. Taylor. “Ms. Taylor is Charm’s shareholder. An important patent in Charm’s formula was discovered and extracted by Ms.
Taylor’s team.”
Speaking of this, Susan might as well say more, “You can check this on Wikipedia. Ms. Taylor is an outstanding researcher. She is also known as the most outstanding young scientist in biology for the past ten years.“.
Liam was stunned.
Samuel and Amelia were shocked.
David said, “Ha–ha, how ridiculous.” After saying that, he stood up and left.
William also said that he had something on at the company and left.
Only Emma was sitting on the sofa with a stiff expression on her face. She was like a clown.
She remembered her words and actions from before and bit her lower lip hard.
How was that possible?
How could Olivia be a scientist?
She didn’t look like a scientist at all.
She didn’t know if it was to comfort herself or to verify it, but she turned on her phone and searched Olivia’s name on Wikipedia.
Soon, an introduction about Olivia popped up. It was filled with dazzling results and honors. Every one of them was a real award, unlike the foreign pheasant awards that they used to gild themselves or the honor awards given by their families.
Emma stared at a line of words.
Olivia represented her country in the International Olympic Biology Competition and won the first prize.
There were also some research awards below that she didn’t recognize. She randomly searched for one and found that they were all very professional and high–profile awards.
Amelia was also stunned. She took out her phone and started to search. Looking at the series of flashing honors on it, she suddenly felt her face burning.
Not long ago, she even called Olivia’s counselor and said that Olivia was not allowed to enter the laboratory.
That counselor must be laughing at her!
Among these people, only Liam was genuinely happy. He said nice a few times and asked Susan about Olivia in detail.
Previously, the information the Taylor family had investigated was not so detailed. It was mainly to verify their identities, so the investigation was focused on what happened when Olivia was young and about five years old.
“Olivia is so amazing!” Liam exclaimed. He was no longer as calm and steady as before. He was like an old urchin who was sincerely proud of his junior.
“Of course,” Susan said non–stop. Olivia was her idol, her goddess, and the person Susan admired the most. She knew Olivia’s achievements very well. “Charm only appeared because of the yeast that Olivia suggested. Olivia is super amazing. Not only is she Charm’s shareholder, but she’s also the most important researcher and developer.”
“Previously, there was a problem that the research and development team couldn’t solve even after half a year. Mr. Book invited Olivia. In three days, just three days, it was solved. Liam, you have to know that our company’s research and development team is famous internationally. Many of them graduated from top international universities and are all PhD students. They all admire Olivia.”
Liam chuckled. “Our Olivia is the smartest!”
Susan nodded. “Olivia is good at everything.”
