Chapter 32: Olivier Had Really Spoiled Virginie!
Chapter 32: Olivier Had Really Spoiled Virginie!
"You look handsome." Fleur gasped.
Olivier came and sat down. Camille immediately served them dinner.
"I'll give you ten minutes," Olivier said.
"...What? Going upstairs that fast?"
Olivier's grip on his chopsticks tightened warningly, veins on the back of his fingers bulging as if he
would break the utensils at the very next second.
Fleur pouted and said nothing else.
"I heard that your club uses violence to handle unruly visitors."
"That's right."
"So you use beating someone to death as a business strategy?"
Fleur remembered Thierry's afternoon phone call. "What happened? Did a friend of yours get beaten
up after causing trouble at my club?”
Olivier did not answer.
"Tell me who it was and I'll let this slide, for your sake. I'll order the club management to not use
violence with him in the futur"
"You'll let this slide? How arrogant you are."
Tsk, whoever was beaten up must be someone of importance if Olivier was that annoyed by what she
said, Fleur thought. Could it be that that person is connected to Virginie? After all, Virginie had
persistently called him earlier, one call after the next.
"Stop eating. Let's go." Olivier stood up and strode off.
Maybe whoever it was was connected to Virginie, after all.
......
The moment they arrived at John Hospital, they saw Virginie along with a middle-aged man.
The man looked to be a successful business man, dressed in a suit and tie. This was likely Virginie's
father.
Virginie was unsettled, glancing worriedly at the operating room now and then. Her father was calmer
though a concerned expression still on his face.
Virginie looked ready to run into Olivier's arms the moment she saw him. But she stopped still the
moment she saw Fleur by his side.
"Olivier," Philibert Lopez greeted in a deep voice. His gaze flitted across Fleur in brief examination but
did not linger long.
"Mr. Lopez," Olivier said politely. "How serious is it?"
Philibert placed a hand on his hip, face dark as a storm. He sighed in exasperation and anger.
"Two broken legs, two broken ribs, a crack at the back of his skull, a moderate concussion, and other
various injuries." Virginie took a deep breath to suppress her anger and worry. "My brother...is really
badly injured."
Oh.
So it was the Lopez family's eldest son, no wonder Thierry had said it was someone powerful. Thierry
did well then.
"Do you know who The Stunning Club's owner is, Olivier?" Virginie asked, walking between him and
Fleur as she did. It was either intentional or not.
Her tone was needy as if seeking coddling. If Fleur was not here right now she had no doubt Virginie
would be cozying up in Olivier's arms right now, seeking comfort.
"My family would never let such an incident slide. Olivier, you have a bigger circle than us, you should
know who the owner is, right?"
Though Olivier's dark casualwear had a gentle elegance to it, there was also a steeliness that made it
hard to predict his mood.
Olivier did not answer but instead asked, "Many fights have erupted at The Stunning Club in the past
six months, and you're well aware of their rules. This wouldn't be your brother's first visit to The
Stunning Club, am I right?"
Olivier knew exactly what kind of reputation the Lopez family's eldest son had? Where there was
women, there was him.
Philibert hated this habit of his son's. He had gotten angry and cursed at his son more than once but
the young man never stopped.
Obviously this would not be the young man's first time to The Stunning Club.
"I don't know if it was his first visit, but my family won't rest until some justice is given."
Olivier fell silent.
Fleur had a feeling Olivier would reveal her identity if this was to end.
"What justice do you seek? Will you make a bigger scene from this?"
Fleur raised an eyebrow while Virginie felt more upset with that response. She had more than enough
reasons to feel that way, from rejecting Olivier's marriage proposal to everything the man had done in
the past few days. It had greatly irked her.
"Olivier, what are you saying? My brother is still unconscious in the OR. I called to ask for your help
and you bring Fleur Leroy along. You're doing this on purpose to anger me aren't you? It's fine if you
bring her along, that's none of my business! But are you saying you don't want us to make a fuss? The
Lopez family isn't afraid of a simple KTV! What's wrong with making a big scene?!"
Fleur lazily looked at Virginie, arms across her chest. She couldn't help but wonder just how much
Olivier had pampered her in the past for her to so easily lose her temper like some child after he asked
a single question.
Was she upset Olivier did not stand up for her? That he did not immediately go and comfort her?
Olivier had really spoiled Virginie!
"Virginie." Philibert said with a frown. "Watch your mouth. Olivier coming over is already showing you
some respect, What are you yelling for?"
"It's fine," Olivier responded calmly in a tone that had no inflection at all.
Fleur pursed her lips tightly, already comparing herself with Virginie. If it was Fleur doing that to Olivier,
would he say the same thing
Jeez, Olivier must be really blind to like Virginie.
"I can accept Virginie's bit of temper, since her brother did get injured badly," Olivier said.
Philibert nodded in relief. Virginie pouted, staring at Olivier with a mix of emotions in her eyes: spoiled,
resentful, unhappy.
"Mr Lopez, this isn't something to cause a big scene about," said Olivier, posture tall as a sturdy tree.
His stunning form instantly got everyone's attention.
"What do you mean?" Virginie asked.
"If word gets out, people would talk about how lecherous and ruined your son is, making a fool of
himself at a KTV. They will say his father badly raised him, and that the Lopez family produced such a
failed individual. Your family is influential, it cannot take this kind of rumour."
Philibert's expression turned ugly.
Virginie was not calm, not with Fleur here.
"What should we do then? Just silently suffer? We don't know if my brother's injury will turn out healed.
What if he ends up disabled?"
"What did I just say? If it comes to going to prison, paying a fine, or compensating, then so be it. If he
becomes disabled...you'll just have to treat it as a lesson to remember."
Virginie's face turned ghostly pale.
She was in disbelief at Olivier's words. If her brother becomes disabled, just treat it as a lesson?!
As if that was easy!
Being someone who had been out in the field for a long time, Philibert knew something was up the
moment Olivier said those words. He stared at Olivier with a keen eye.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
Virginie eased her tone. "Olivier, are you still angry at me? That I rejected you...”
"Virginie," Olivier abruptly interrupted, "Don't bring up the past anymore."
He then turned to Philibert and said, "Mr Lopez, I'll have to take my leave now."
