Chapter 30: Young Master, Miss Leroy Said You Must Coax Her
Olivier was probably jealous, Fleur thought. Even if Samuel and Simon were different people with
different personality, they still shared the same face.
Virginie was more or less still attached. Fleur glanced at Olivier's cold, steely expression from the front
passenger seat. With one hand on the wheel, face illuminated by the sunlight, his handsome features
were quite surreal.
The traffic light in front of them was almost red, but Olivier only stepped on the pedal. The car roared
forward.
Fleur stayed in silence.
She fumbled for the safety cushion in her seat, worried Olivier would speed on the road later. But he
did not.
The car stopped at the next traffic light.
He did not look so tense anymore, no longer angry. Fleur carefully reached out and wound her hand
around a pinky of his. "Are...are you hungry?"
Her question really did not fit the atmosphere.
Olivier tugged away her hand. He wiped at her finger with a tissue, as if Fleur had dirtied them.
"Why were you with Simon today?" His voice was cold and sharp. Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
"He suspects I killed his brother."
"Did you?"
"Are you doubting the police force? If I killed him would I still be here?"
Olivier turned to face her.
The dusk light carried a tinge of romance. Fleur's momentary attraction to the golden light reflecting off
his eyes made her miss the emotion in them.
Olivier glanced at her arm, at the hidden red rose underneath.
"Then why are you so hostile to Virginie? Is it just because of me?"
Fleur's hostility towards Virginie was evident since the first time at the night club. Olivier had a strong
feeling that this hostility was not just because of him.
"Can't it be just because of you?"
"It can be, but that's not enough."
Olivier skimmed his cold fingertips around her eyes, pressing into her skin.
"It is enough." Fleur sighed, voice carrying a hint of mocking. "She has had so much attention, being as
beautiful as Odette herself, being so loved by so many people."
"Don't you know how many enemies Virginie has? How many people hate and envy her?" Fleur tilted
her head, looking at Olivier's side profile. "I heard she was a drama student, made a movie after
graduating and easily won an award. She had someone decent like Samuel Muller in her sights, and
with someone like you adoring her. She's like Mary Sue-incarnate. As a woman, I can't help being
jealous."
Olivier looked at her thoughtfully, saying nothing.
Fleur said, "Don't you believe me?"
He turned away, sharpness turning cold. "If you hate her so much-" He loosened his hand, seeing how
red the area around her eyes had become. "-avoid her from now on. Keep your vicious comments to
yourself."
Even if Olivier's self esteem was affected by her rejection, all those years of affection for Virginie still
prevailed.
Though he did not speak up for her in the moment, he still did afterwards.
Fleur lowered her head. She did not speak all the way back.
......
Camille had made dinner when Olivier came out from the shower.
"Young Master."
Olivier hummed in greeting with his phone in hand. "Tell her to come down for dinner."
"Yes, sir."
Olivier went to make a call, to investigate Fleur's background and whether she had any ties with
Samuel.
Handling a club like The Stunning Club was no simple feat, and she was only 25 years old. It would be
impossible to do this on her own without some powerful force backing her up, let alone have the club's
business reach such a big scale in half a year. Besides, the police curiously never went looking at the
club even when people caused trouble.
After the phone call, Camille had come back down. "Young Master, Miss said she's not feeling well and
won't join for dinner."
Olivier's lips tightened into a thin line. Now Fleur was throwing a tantrum.
"Miss said...that..." Camille embarrassingly said, "...that Young Master was mean to her, and that you
have to coax her. If Young Master doesn't wish to do that, you can personally send her dinner up to her
instead..."
Olivier remained silent.
A new feeling erupted in his body, being challenged in such a way. It was as if someone had lit a fire
inside him that glowed hot throughout his body.
It was an unexpectedly curious desire to dominate. The feeling spread through his veins.
Camille did not dare speak, head lowered while waiting for Olivier to respond. Only when Olivier did not
speak after quite a while did she raise her head.
Olivier was looking upstairs, a brightness in his eyes. He did not seem to be...angry?
Camille felt incredulous.
"Young...Young Master..."
Olivier hummed in agreement, then went upstairs.
He...he must be going to coax Miss Leroy.
