Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 48

Chapter 48

After waiting anxiously all day, Mikayla finally received some news from Taylor in the evening.

Johnny’s situation is pretty complicated. You should come over and discuss it in person.”

Mikayla replied, “Alright. Send me the address.”

Taylor then sent Mikayla the location of a bar.

It was always either a nightclub or a bar.

If Mikayla hadn’t known that Taylor was ambitious and excelled in his business, she would’ve considered him an idle playboy.

Mikayla then drove toward the bar.

When she arrived, she found Taylor seated in a private booth on the second

floor.

At that moment, the bar played soft music. With no other patrons on the

second floor, it felt somehow quiet and peaceful with the well–insulated booth.

Taylor stretched his legs out on the coffee table, displaying a nonchalant.

demeanor. He was absent from any company and engaging in a phone call.

Drinks, tea, fruits, and snacks were placed on the coffee table. Without disturbing him, Mikayla settled onto the couch and popped a piece of plum into

her mouth.

“Alright, that’s the plan. Keep me posted on any updates.”

Taylor swiftly hung up the phone.

“What have you discovered about Johnny?” Mikayla asked.

Without saying much, Taylor retrieved a set of documents and handed it to

Mikayla. –

Besides the previously known information, the documents held Johnny’s personal details and a report from the previous night.

Despite coming from a modest background, Johnny harbored exceptional Intelligence. He entered his father–in–law’s company by leveraging a liquor

formula he had mastered.

Following his marriage, he gradually expanded his influence using the financial resources of his in– laws.

Johnny often donated to charitable organizations such as orphanages to

maintain a positive public image. With that, he earned a favorable reputation.

Nevertheless, the woman who joined them for drinks last night seemed to be

associated with one of those orphanages.

“Such a scum!”

Mikayla couldn’t help but scorn.

She thought that Johnny was secretly despicable for using charity as camouflage. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

“Let’s not rush to judgment. Keep flipping,” Taylor cryptically reminded.

As Mikayla turned to the back of the document, she came across a picture of Johnny and the woman at a hotel.

It was the same woman she had seen who behaved intimately with Johnny at

the restaurant.

“Was this taken last night? Why didn’t anyone stop them?” Mikayla asked.

Taylor chuckled teasingly, “Ms. Davidson, who can stop them when it’s consensual? Besides, that picture wasn’t taken by my men.”

By the time Taylor’s men had gone to investigate, Johnny had already left the

hotel.

With the recent news about Ansoft’s financing and public listing, many were targeting Johnny to seek leverage against him.

Someone else with ulterior motives took that picture.

“So, what now? Has it been reported to the police?” Mikayla inquired.

Taylor smiled and shook his head.

“The person who took those photos is looking for a payoff, so both sides are

currently negotiating.”

As Mikayla stared at Taylor, a realization dawned on her.

“You’re not trying to help Johnny out of this trouble, right? So this was what you were talking about!”

Taylor didn’t deny it. He sat nonchalantly, casually toying with his phone.

Mikayla instantly grew furious.

“How could you? I thought we were supposed to discuss it together.”
