Chapter 26
Chapter 26
“Don’t look back, and don’t ask about how it’ll end. Just make sure you eat three meals a day and take care of yourself as the seasons change. Ultimately, when the time is right, and the weather is good, someone will come into your life.”
Beneath the caption was a picture of a feast spread over a table, followed by a selfie of Kylic.
Although the caption and images made it seem like a mere creative life update, if one looked closely, one would notice a man’s arm caught in the corner of Kylie’s selfie.
The man was dressed in a shirt and had a luxury watch on his wrist.
Mikayla knew very well that that was one of the watches Jerome wore frequently.
So Jerome was with Kylie.
Not that it was strange. He’d been so frustrated that night, but she’d refused to give in. Not to mention, he led a clean life and didn’t have any rumored side pieces. The only thing he could have done was go looking for his paramour.
They must have gotten closer over the past few days, which led Kylie to share such insightful words.
Mikayla snorted as she unfollowed Kylie.
Back then, she’d only followed her to get to know her “rival” better.
Today, she didn’t have to care about that anymore. The earlier she unfollowed her, the sooner she’d feel at ease.
Putting her phone away, Mikayla headed out to get some air. As soon as she got out of the garage, her phone rang.
It was her former best friend, Aubrey Saunders.
The Saunders family had changed their line of work to finance two years ago. Right now, they still weren’t operating on a large scale yet.
In her past life, when she was hospitalized in the mental hospital, the Saunders had somehow managed to latch onto the Miller Group. As a result, their company’s shares had skyrocketed.
Even after Aubrey found out she was in the mental hospital, she never came to visit a

single time.
Humans knew how to weigh the pros and cons. Mikayla understood this, so she didn’t bear much ill will for Aubrey.
However, she couldn’t bare her heart to Aubrey like she used to in her past life anymore.
Thus, ever since the day she was reborn, she had never contacted Aubrey.
So why was Aubrey calling her right now?
She stepped on the brakes and answered the call.
“Kay, where are you?”
Aubrey’s urgent voice sounded over the speakers as soon as the line connected.
“I was just about to go out for a spin. What’s up?”
“How could you still be in the mood for that? Didn’t you see what that bitch Kylie posted. on Instagram?”
“What’s the issue?”
“There’s a big issue! Go check it out now!” Aubrey urged. “She made a whole feast and even purposely posted a selfie with a man’s arm in the background! She also wrote. something about someone entering her life. She’s practically saying Jerome is with her!”
“What does that have to do with me?” Mikayla said calmly.
“Kay, are you alright? This is huge, and you’re saying it’s got nothing to do with you?” Aubrey said indignantly. “Don’t go out anymore. I’ll come pick you up, and we’ll go to that bitch’s house and give her a piece of our mind! After all, she’s shameless!
In her past life, Aubrey had always gotten outraged on her behalf.
Mikayla had always let Aubrey egg her into humiliating Kylie time and time again. Each time, Jerome would despise her more and more.
Now, she refused to waste her time on such meaningless activities.
If she wanted to call Kylie out, she was going to do it in the way she knew best–by fighting fair and square!
Mikayla replied, “I’m not going. I’d rather read a book or two if I have the free time to meddle in their silly affairs. If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up.”
“Kay!” Aubrey said, “Are you scared of running into Jerome there? Don’t be stupid. If he’s there, then that means you’ve caught them red–handed!
“Then you can let Mrs. Miller Senior handle this. You won’t even need to do anything. She’ll help you teach that bitch Kylle a lesson!”

Mikayla said with more emphasis, “I said I’m not going. Do you not understand simple language?”
“Kay-
Mikayla hung up.
She wondered what Aubrey’s intentions were in egging her to cause trouble. She would have severed ties if it weren’t for their families getting along so well and their long- standing best friendship.
When she thought about her stint at the mental hospital in her previous life and how Jerome had almost forced himself on her a few days ago, she suddenly wanted to learn some self–defense.
She decided to just do it. Thus, she began looking for a martial arts gym in the city.
She picked a relatively large gym that specialized in sparring, mixed martial arts, and boxing. She also wanted a gym that had real–life combat experience. With that, she turned the navigation on and drove over.
The gym didn’t have many glamorous advertisements, but it was spacious and had ample parking. Those were exactly what Mikayla was looking for.
She parked her car smoothly and went inside.
The interior was huge. There were all sorts of training grounds, and the equipment looked professional and complete.
Most importantly, the coaches who were dressed in colorful clothes were pure eye candy. They had pecs and abs that could send any woman’s hormones through the roof!
Even though Jerome had a pretty decent body, he always wore a nasty expression. As good– looking as he was, Mikayla was never in the mood to appreciate his looks.
After feasting her eyes on the delightful view, she signed up for sparring without a second thought.

“Ms. Davidson, do you want to sign up for private classes? The trainer can focus more on your hands–on training!” the staff said,
“No, thanks,” Mikayla declined.
She’d lose her chance with the other trainers if she went for private classes.
She wasn’t going to repeat the mistake of giving up the entire forest just for one tree! After paying the fees, Mikayla finished registering and booked a training session.
Just as she was about to leave, she heard a man call out excitedly, “Miss, it’s really you!”
Mikayla turned around.
The man was in his early 20s and wore the colorful tee that all trainers at the gym had. He had handsome features and bright eyes. While he appeared skinny, his body was evenly toned.
What a coincidence. This was the young man she’d helped buy a suit for a few days ago at
the mall.
“My name is Michael Johnson. I work here part–time,” the man said, introducing himself in a shy but forward manner. “What are you doing here, miss?”
