EPISODE 21 The alpha found someone
MOON STONE PACK
Meagan went back to the guesthouse to take a nap, deciding to visit the pool later in the evening. The time was 3:00 p. m so she set the alarm she had brought along to 5:30 pm. The pool she liked would be free of other wolves and humans. It was her favorite place in the pack because of its silence and calmness if no one was around the area or in it. It was the second place she had visited after the garden filled with fire flies when she first sneaked away from home to see Hazel. The pool was a small area of still water, typically one formed naturally and it was located somewhere not far to the small house she had found Carl.

FEW HOURS LATER
Carl was done with the meeting with his beta. It involved reviewing the petitions from some pack members and reading out mails of some rich and wealthy humans who wanted to invest in the local business of some pack members. The alpha’s consent and pack stamp was needed to proceed with the investment.
Beta Julius yawned as he got out of the stool. They had the meeting in the kitchen. “I should go ahead now.” He said.
“You look tired. Get some rest because I don’t want you looking like a zombie on your wedding day.” Carl pointed at the faint dark circles underneath his beta’s eyes.
Beta Julius yawned again. “Will you like to go for a swim with me? It’ll help you relax your tensed muscles.” Carl asked.
“I’ll pass this time for a good massage from my mate.” Julius grinned with admiration in his eyes.
“You don’t have to throw it to my face that I need to find a mate as soon as possible.” Carl chuckled as they walked out of the kitchen.
“I think it’s time you consider having a mate again.” Julius replied.
“I found someone but I don’t know my chances with her yet.” Carl settled on the couch.
“Really?! Tell me! Since when? Is she a member of this pack? Is she a wolf? How did you meet her?” Julius questioned frantically.
“Which question should I answer first?” Carl asked.
Julius went to sit beside him. “Tell me everything.” He demanded.
“I met her few days back and saw her again last night at the Halloween party. She is not a member of this pack.” Carl answered.
“Then find out more information about her pack.” Julius said.
“She is a pure human.” Carl mumbled.
“Really? Look at you smiling, I can tell you are deeply into her already.” Julius poked his side.
“You can’t be so sure of anything yet. She has this cold nature… as if she doesn’t want me to get close to her.” Carl didn’t want to open up to Julius fully that he was already flirting with his mate’s best friend in case things doesn’t work out.
“I am happy to hear that you are into someone now.” Julius smiled sheepishly.
“I am not seeing her yet. Don’t get me wrong and don’t go about telling Hazel and Brianna.” Carl warned with a stern look on his face.
Julius touched his lips. “I promise to keep your little secret.” He whispered standing up.
“See you later.” Carl waved.
Julius eyes flickered to the other long couch and he saw a mini green bag on it. “Is this a female handbag?!” He pointed at it.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Carl eyes widened when he saw the bag that belonged to Meagan.
“Has she started coming over to visit you?! Is there something you are not telling me?!” Julius blurted out.
Carl stood up and grabbed the bag from Julius before he opened it. “Joanna dropped by earlier so she must have forgotten that she brought it along. You know she is clumsy.” He lied.
Julius relaxed. “Oh.. Joanna.” He mouthed.
Joanna is the alpha’s niece and she is staying at the pack mansion with the family.
“You should go ahead.” Carl pushed Julius towards the door. “Try to get enough rest because we have to rehearse for the grand entry as early as 5:00 am. Bye.” He opened the door and pushed his beta out before he could say any words.
Carl heaved a sigh of relief as he locked the door and rushed to the couch he had dropped Meagan’s bag. He checked it and found her cellphone. If Julius had succeeded in looking into it then he would have recognized the cellphone because of the lock screen. Meagan’s picture was smiling back at him. She was dressed in a medical coat with a cup of coffee in her hand as she sat behind a white desk.
The picture was taken by Hazel about a year ago when she had visited Meagan at the hospital. Hazel wanted a recent picture of her best friend so she had said something funny which made Meagan flash her a real smile and she had taken a clear shot.
Carl sat back on the couch to admire the picture. She was beautiful. A smile crept up his face again as his mind drifted back to the kiss they had shared. His mind was filled with the images of the pretty fortune teller. Something sparked in him as he fantasized over the kiss, the sweet honey taste of her lips and it felt like she had cast a magical spell on him.
Carl looked into the bag again and found an inhaler in it. Is she asthmatic? Or she just carried it about as a first aid in case she came across a patient with such ailment? He wondered. He did not remember Hazel saying her best friend has asthma. And Carl concluded that doctors are always very cautious. She would need it and this is an excuse to see her again.
Carl stood up to leave for the guesthouse but he stopped at the door. “I am not sure she would like the idea of me bringing this to her. Plus the other bridesmaids might wonder why I am at the guesthouse and that would start a rumor.” He thought and walked back to the couch.
“I should keep it with me until she comes around to get it. No, I should send someone to take it to her.” Carl concluded.
He dropped the bag on the couch and motioned towards his room to grab his swimming suit. He was going to have an evening bathe in the pool.
