Chapter 939: Waiting for You
Brendon held Ranita’s soft hand and quickly embraced her for a few seconds. “Then I won’t go up.”
As he spoke, he stole a quick kiss on her lips while she wasn’t paying attention.
“I’ll wait for you at home.”This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
Those simple words made Ranita’s heart race, filling her with a warm and peculiar sense of emotion.
Ranita lowered her eyelashes and couldn’t help but smile. “Okay!”
Ranita sneaked back and ran into Jedidiah in the corridor. Jedidiah looked at her with a complex expression. “I’m going to check on Mom.”
“You stay here with Dad.”
Jedidiah took a few steps away, then turned back and said irritably, “Ranita, you’re a girl! Be more reserved with men! Hugging and holding each other in public, what kind of behavior is that!”
He paused, then helplessly patted her shoulder. “Men are no good. The more you treat them well, the more they think you’re cheap!”
“So you’re just throwing yourself at him!”
So he saw it!
Ranita’s cheeks turned red, and she said embarrassedly, “I know!”
“Don’t just say it; you have to actually do it!” Jedidiah advised before walking away.
“Ding dong!” Just as Jedidiah left, Ranita’s phone chimed with a message from Brendon: “Did you go up?”
It’s just a few steps! Is he that nervous?
“Already went up!” Ranita felt a sweet warmth in her heart. “What about you? Are you home?”
As soon as she sent the message, Brendon called her.
“I’m on my way back. I’ll take Ayaan out for dinner later.” After a pause, Brendon added, “Since you’re all busy, I’ll take care of Ayaan.”
Regarding Ayaan, although Alexia had opinions, she didn’t stop them from seeing each other.
“Um… thank you.” Ranita figured she wouldn’t have time for Ayaan these days, so it was just as well for Brendon to take care of him for a few days.
“Why are you thanking me? Just handle your family matters well.” After a few seconds of silence, Brendon reminded her, “By the way, if you get a chance, could you have your brother call me? I have something to discuss with him.”
“Huh? You want to talk to my brother?” Ranita was quite surprised. “Is it something important?”
Brendon smiled. “It’s about Steland Monolith Technology.”
“Alright, I’ll tell him.” Ranita chatted a bit more before hanging up, feeling inexplicably lighter.
Benedict hadn’t woken up yet. After watching over him for a while, Ranita checked the time and thought about ordering takeout when someone delivered it to her.
It was even packaged from a five-star hotel.
Apparently, Brendon had specially arranged dinner for her, along with a bouquet of vibrant sunflowers.
Ranita was deeply touched.
She ate until she was full.
While Ranita stayed at the hospital with Benedict, Brendon busied himself with taking care of the child.
Ayaan was generally well-behaved but kept fussing about wanting to go to the hospital to see his mom.
“Ayaan, be good! Aren’t you hungry? You haven’t touched your dinner,” Brendon said, slightly annoyed.
“I don’t want to eat; I want to see Mommy.” Although Ayaan was young, he sensed something was off at Bowman’s Mansion these past few days. Especially since it had been a whole day and night without Ranita coming home.
“When is Mommy coming back? Does Mommy not care about Grandpa, Grandma, and Uncle anymore? Do they not want me anymore?”
Ayaan hugged his arms, his eyes already red. He looked pitifully at Brendon and said, “Did Mommy give me to Daddy?”
