A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 1 The Person I Like is Back

“National sweetheart Shannon Murphy is about to return home after her world tour and has announced her relationship with someone outside the entertainment industry.”

“What are you looking at?” Suddenly, a firm chest pressed against her from behind, and Ranita Bowman’s slender, fair waist was also encircled by a man’s arm, with hot breath lingering by her ear.

The air was filled with the fragrance of pomelo and a faint scent of alcohol.

“You… have you been drinking?” Ranita had just asked when the man turned her to face him, his rough fingertips caressing her back and slowly descending onto her shoulder.

Ranita shuddered, and her nightgown trembled and fell off her body.

A searing kiss spread from behind her ear, causing Ranita to go weak in the waist. She leaned into his embrace, and she heard the man lazily reply, “Hmm, had a little bit to drink.”

Ranita will hardly refuse any requests from Brendon Stuart.

And after three years of marriage, Brendon knew all her preferences, effortlessly leading her into indulgence.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Late at night, the warmth in the room gradually returned to its original state, with only the sound of dripping water coming from the bathroom. Ranita was very tired, but her mind was inexplicably clear.

The bathroom door opened and Brendon emerged wearing a bathrobe.

He had a handsome face, coupled with broad shoulders, narrow waist, long legs and a family background that ordinary people can hardly reach. He was known as the “golden son-in-law” in Kurima.

However, outsiders never knew that he had been married for three years.

“After you finish washing up, come to the study. I have something to tell you,” Brendon’s voice was also very pleasant, neither fast nor slow, and with a magnetic tone that was more captivating than many professional voice actors.

Ranita pursed her lips and said reluctantly, “It’s so late, can’t we talk about it tomorrow?”

After Ranita finished speaking, she felt a sense of oppression in Brendon’s gaze. She forced a smile and thought to herself that the one who falls in love first is always at a disadvantage. Brendon must have known that she would back down. With a brave face, she said, “Okay, I’ll go later.”

Ranita quickly took a shower and then went to the study to find Brendon.

Brendon had changed his clothes, wearing a snow-white shirt and suit pants. He had a low-key but expensive belt around his waist, and there was a faint scent of shower gel in the air.

“Sit!” Brendon’s expression was cold and his voice lacked any inflection.

If Ranita hadn’t just gotten out of his bed, they would have seemed like strangers.

“At this hour, what do you need from me?” Ranita’s cheeks still carried a hint of post-love flush as she laughed softly, her eyes lifting with a flirtatious charm she wasn’t even aware of.

Brendon glanced at her and pulled out a document from the drawer, handing it to Ranita.

“This is the divorce agreement,” he said calmly.

Ranita was taken aback. She had anticipated this, but she didn’t expect it to happen so suddenly. After all, they had just been together moments ago.

But now they were face-to-face discussing their divorce.

“I will give you everything I promised during our marriage and an additional alimony payment,” Brendon continued in a business-like tone. “If you have any other requests, feel free to bring them up and I will consider them.”

Ranita looked over the agreement with lowered eyes, highlighting key points that they had agreed upon during their marriage. The alimony payment was generous as well.

However, Brendon’s signature at the bottom of the page felt like a sharp sting in her heart.

“There are no problems,” Ranita said finally as Brendon handed her a pen. She looked softly at him before asking hesitantly, “Brendon… has that person you liked for so long come back?”

That person who had been an unforgettable existence in his heart for years.
