CHAPTER 164
Chapter 164
BOOK 2: CHAPTER 34
Rowan’s POV
The Werewolf King insisted I throw him a small dinner party before he left and reluctantly I did. He insisted it would help bring Harriette and her parents together in one place and I didn’t say a word.
Presently, we were all seated around a table. I mean, Alpha Darius, Luna Angela, Alpha Mason, Mika, and of course, The King. “You planned on staying for two days and four days later, here we are,” I complained while whispering to him.
“Is it a crime that I want to spend time with my son?” He asked with his signature smile on his face.
It’s such a shame he was a King and unfortunately, my father. I would have loved to punch that smile off his face.
“You insisted on discussing something with me but ever since you stepped in here, you’ve been infatuated with Harriette and Ella,”
And that was no joke. As soon as he found out either Harriette or Ella could be the Dreamwalker, he began picking up on every little thing either of them did. I didn’t stop him because I also needed an answer about who both of those girls were or where they came from. Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
Once he was satisfied with his little research, he made a call to Alpha Darius and spewed a lot of bullshit.
“See! That turned out to be a good decision. She’s reunited with her parents,”
I snorted. Reunited, my foot! A part of me wanted this reunion to be perfect but on the other hand, another part of me didn’t want it because if it did turn out good, Harriette would have to leave without ever finding out if I was her mate.
Do I really want her to find out? I asked myself, feeling conflicted like never before.
“Get your ass out of my pack tomorrow and return to your palace,”
I warned him. He’d said he would leave tomorrow and I would appreciate it if he did. He’d been on my nerves and it was a hard job controlling Thorne.
I had to keep myself extra busy to achieve that. I was reaching a breaking point. If he didn’t leave soon, he’ll witness something that could kill him.
“Let’s discuss something tonight then,” he asked, sounding serious.
I looked at him and nodded.
I removed myself from my seat and changed my position next to Mika so his security detail could taste the food before he ate it..
“You’re her mate, aren’t you?” Alpha Darius who was sitting next to me suddenly asked. I knew who he was referring to.
Although I was shocked, I didn’t let it show that I was. “I’m guessing the King told you that,”
“He only made a speculation. He also told us how dangerous you are and how our daughter would be unfortunate to have you as her mate,”
I smirked, then shrugged. “I’m sure I’m not as evil as he expressed but still I try to live up to those words of his,”
I answered. He raised an eyebrow.
My father had made up those lies about my personality because he wanted them to take Harriette and leave my pack as soon as possible. He wasn’t doing their family a favor, trust me. In his mind, he was doing me a favor.
The truth was, the King was likely afraid of Dreamwalkers. Something might have happened to him in the past, courtesy of a Dreamwalker, and he was being cautious to ensure the same wouldn’t happen to me.
“Do me a favor, Alpha Darius. Don’t speak of this mate thing to Harriette. She doesn’t know because she doesn’t really have her
wolf,”
I explained to him.
“I never planned on asking her about that,” he answered.
Good!
I looked up to see Harriette arriving at the table. I’d asked her to join us earlier this morning when we met at the fountain and she refused. I was glad that she finally came.
When she told me she was my greatest nightmare, I asked her what she meant, she didn’t say anything. Not even a word after that.
Mika allowed her to sit beside Luna Angela.
She was focused on her plate and even though we were all focused on her, she didn’t look up. When she did, she was staring at
- me.
Harriette looked defeated. I gave a small encouraging nod and she replied with a small smile.
My heart raced for a few seconds and I froze. Her smile did a number to my heart that I didn’t know it was capable of.
Would it be prosperous for a man to say he felt butterflies fluttering in his stomach? Because that was close to how I felt.
“Harriette, I heard from Commander Mika here that you take painting classes,”
Luna Angela asked. She’d turned to Harriette. I watched as Harriette slowly looked up to her.
“She forced me,” No one was expecting that response.
Mika started laughing and almost everyone at the table joined her. That kind of eased the tension.
“I didn’t force you, Harriette. You paint well and your doctor advised that you do that more,” Mika answered.
“More, not every day,”
“Yes, every day of the week. At least for an hour,”
“Says you, not the doctor,” she snapped back.
“I’m doing you a favor here by coaching you, Harriette. The least you can do is try to be appreciative of my benevolence,” Mika answered as though she was mad.
Harriette curled her lips. “It’s not even as if you can paint well, Commander Mika. Alpha Rowan, have you seen what your second in command calls art?”
Harriette suddenly asked me.
I frowned. It was unusual to see Mika bicker with anyone but to be honest, it was amusing seeing the two of them bicker over nothing.
Mika gasped. “Take that back. I’m the greatest artist the werewolf world has ever known,”
“And I’m Leonardo Da Vinci,”
Everyone laughed again.
“Don’t ever come back to me for lessons again,”
“Thank God,” Harriette mumbled.
“Can I take over as your teacher then? I can still stay here for a few more days,” Luna Angela asked.
Harriette became silent for a few seconds.
Someone touched me on the shoulder. It was the Werewolf King. His expression looked serious.

AM
“It’s time,”
He said. “You too, Alpha Darius,” he added.
I looked at Alpha Darius and he had the same similar look on his face.
We both followed him into my office.
“Does your brother need to be here or will you tell him everything?” He asked Alpha Darius.
Darius smirked. “You’re avoiding him,” he answered.
“Dreamwalkers creeps me the fuck out,”
I knew it. That was the first time my father would be using the F word in my presence. Everyone has their kryptonite, I guess that was the King’s.
“Don’t worry, he’ll still find out regardless,” Alpha Darius told him.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
I was done with whatever they were going on about.
“Always impatient,”
I took a deep breath and decided not to let him get to me.
“Something has been going on for a while that has been bothering me. Has anyone ever heard of the Fellow Four?” He asked.
“The what?” Alpha Darius asked.
“They’re a group of four werewolves who started packs that are out of the werewolf world and train young girls and boys to be assassins. They’ve been doing this for a long time and only recently did I catch wind of it. They manipulate these children into believing a lot of crap,” The King said with spite and anger.
“How did you know about this?” I asked.
“One of them was sent into my palace to kill me because it would help her to bring her dead sister back to life if she could rip my heart out of my chest and bring it back to their home. The girl killed herself before we could get any more information out of her.
He answered.
Alpha Darius looked indifferent. He wasn’t as shocked as I was. “One was sent to mine too. I didn’t get to give her a second chance before I got rid of her. If Mason was there, he would have been reasonable enough to listen or believe,”
“She wanted your heart too,”
Alpha Darius nodded.
They both turned to me hoping I would have a say.
I shrugged. “Sorry, we don’t allow crazies into our pack. We thoroughly vet them before we let them in. We might be a rogue pack but we’re more careful than a normal werewolf Pack,”
I replied sarcastically. The King glared at me and Alpha Darius just shook his head and looked away.
“This was found on her,”
“The King brought out a picture from an envelope. Alpha Darius also bought out his phone.
They both had the same thing. It was a picture of a knife with a significant symbol.
It looked familiar so I snatched the picture from the king, who immediately grumbled. I shook my head in disbelief as I looked at it over and over again.
Fucking hell.

It was the same as Harriette’s knife.
“Your greatest nightmare,” her words echoed in my head repeatedly.
Harriette was the one sent to kill me.

Hello everyone, thank you for reading. What do you think about the pace of book 2? Am I going too fast? Should I slow down a bit? Or should I keep going at this pace?
The story is moving at this pace because we have so many parts to touch before we end the story. Remember Zack?
