Chapter 23
Sabrina didn't even know what she liked about Nelson anymore. Was it his handsome face that captivated her back then? Or was it his promise to come back for her?
"Sabrina, you're really beautiful. If you were in showbiz, you'd surely be a star." Pamela sat on the couch in Sabrina's office with crossed legs. Leaning back, she exuded an air of superiority.
Her black dress accentuated her figure, and the brooch added to her elegance.
Sabrina didn't say anything. With her arms crossed, she leaned against the edge of her desk and stared at Pamela.
Pamela continued, "But, Sabrina, having beauty alone is a disaster. You'll just become a plaything for men. Once the novelty wears off, you'll be discarded."
Raising an eyebrow, Sabrina gathered her long hair and tied it up before slowly walking toward Pamela. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Pamela wasn't sure what Sabrina was about to do. Her gaze lingered on Sabrina's slender neck. Sabrina didn't even notice the clear hickey on the side of her neck.
Seeing that, Pamela instinctively clenched her fists. Nelson had only returned a few days ago, and he was already indulging in Sabrina's body.
She even wondered if Nelson's departure overseas, just a week after marrying Sabrina, was because of the latter.
After all, Sabrina was even more delicate back then, and men probably wanted a taste of her body.
"Do you want to give me the brooch yourself, or should I help you take it off?" Sabrina asked. Her voice was soft but carried immense pressure.
Pamela couldn't help but glance at Sabrina. Despite knowing about her for three years, this was their first formal interaction.
Pamela was surprised that Sabrina wasn't intimidated by her. She proved to be much more difficult to deal with than Pamela had anticipated.
"Sabrina, as I said—"
"Ms. Dixon, you can choose to address me as Ms. Wyatt or Mrs. Tucker." Sabrina interrupted her.
"The person spurned is the loser in a love triangle," Lilith Cruz, Pamela's assistant, couldn't help but comment.
Sabrina chuckled, "Then why didn't he marry you?"
With a cold expression, she opened her palm in front of Pamela. "The brooch isn't Nelson's alone. It's our marital property. I have the right to retrieve it. Will you cooperate, Ms. Dixon?"
Realizing the situation, Lilith immediately turned to call Nelson. "M-Mr. Tucker... Ms. Wyatt is bullying Pamela. Can you come over?"
When Lilith turned around, she proudly addressed Sabrina. "Mr. Tucker asks you to take the call."
Sabrina took the phone and hung up without saying a word.
Lilith widened her eyes. "What…"
Nelson looked at the blank screen of the phone and chuckled. "To Breeze Group."
Nelson's assistant, Dylan Campbell, turned from the passenger seat. "Mr. Tucker, are we going to meet Mrs. Tucker?"
Nelson raised an eyebrow. "Why are you so happy to see her? Are you two close?"
"We are. For the past three years, Mrs. Tucker has consistently called me to ask about your condition. Whenever you're sick, she's more worried than I am.
"She tells me when you need to take medicine and even which medications you're allergic to. Your stomach is weak, and the food abroad is not suitable for you. It was Mrs. Tucker who trained me in cooking."
"Why didn't you mention any of these in the last three years?"
Dylan hesitated. "Mrs. Tucker didn't let me."
Nelson chuckled, "You're so obedient to her. Whose assistant are you?"
Dylan muttered softly, "If I've told you, you'd hate her more. You'd think she's monitoring and controlling you."
Nelson was rendered speechless.
When they arrived at Sabrina's office, Nelson saw Sabrina crouching on the floor and picking up the diamonds and turquoise stones that had fallen from the brooch. Meanwhile, Pamela was crying on the ground.
Lilith had a handprint on her face as she tearfully complained to Nelson, "Mr. Tucker, Ms. Wyatt can't just hit people when she's unhappy, can she?"
Sabrina acted as if she hadn't seen him. Noticing a turquoise stone near his feet, she moved closer, and a stern inquiry echoed above her head, "What happened, Sabrina?"
