Marrying my high school bully

Epilogue

ONE YEAR LATER

“You look so ravishing,” Mrs Gonzales cupped my made-up cheeks and planted a kiss on my forehead.

“Thank you, aunt.” I beamed with a smile as the veil was set on my head while she left the room to attend to something else.

Aunty Rosa, as I fondly called her, had become a part of the family. I made her the CEO of my company as she was more than capable of being a leader, and also, I also wanted to compensate her for everything she did for my mother.

I was fine with being a consultant and when she was ready to retire, I’d take over. Since we moved to Colorado, my life with Dexter has been all shades of fun.

The happiness I craved after losing my mother was restored, and never a day passed without me thanking the universe for granting me my wishes.

And today, after five months of having my twins; Nyla and Brian, I was ready to walk down the aisle and experience what a beautiful wedding felt like.

I stood in front of the mirror and stared at how well my wedding dress suited me. It was a hypnotic silver sleeveless mermaid dress with beautiful crystals laced to the neckline. A string of light silver pearls formed a wavy pattern that stretched from under my bust to my hip.

The matching gray lace was hooked to my hip, flowing downwards which gave me a stunning princess look.

Lilly came in with a wrapped box in her hands, her lips stretched with a cunning smile that she inherited from Dexter.

“What’s this, mama?” I asked gently and bent down to collect the box from her.

She smacked her lips and folded her arms behind her coyly. “Daddy asked me to give this to you…” She grinned. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

I giggled loudly and shook my head. Seeing her speak more fluently than before made me proud, as I was almost sure that it would take two extra years for her speech to be more articulate.

Sometimes, I forgot that she wasn’t my biological daughter because I loved her to the moon and back, just like Dexter who didn’t joke with her and the twins.

“Oh, he did? Let’s check it out, shall we?” She nodded and I brought her a little chair for her to sit on.

I yanked the pink wrapper off and a gasp escaped my lips as I stared at the name of the brand that was boldly written on the box. A few seconds later, I was staring at a fascinating pair of ankle-strapped sandals with silver glitters at both heels.

It matched my dress perfectly and I couldn’t wait to give him a rewarding kiss after we were done exchanging our vows.

“It’s… It’s beautiful.” Lilly chimed.

“Yes, it is,” I replied and put on the shoes in readiness for the wedding which was happening at the facade of our house.

Yeah. After what happened the last time, we both decided to get married in our house. And that wasn’t a problem since we had enough space to hold such an event.

A knock came on the door and Aunt Rosa let herself in. “It’s about time, sweetheart.” She announced and covered my face with the veil.

I drew in a deep breath as pangs of nervousness mixed with excitement seared through me. I picked up my gray and ivory rose butterfly bouquet and stepped out.

The hallway seemed longer than usual as I traipsed through it, but I didn’t complain because it was worth the journey. Lilly walked in front of me as the little bride.

The front door opened to the spacious front yard that was filled with the few guests we had invited. My eyes caught the sight of Nyla and Brian tugging at each other’s clothes while my father tried to separate them, and a chuckle escaped my lips at the cute struggle.

I held the bouquet firmly, slowly trotting on the cream rug that was laid out for me to walk on, and my mind drifted back to the day I stormed into Eden’s wedding. That day, I confirmed that I was cursed and nothing good could happen to me.

But here I was today, about to be properly married to my former high school bully, who put his life on the line for me, together with my father and my late mother’s friends.

I had three beautiful kids, two of which came out of my womb and made me a complete woman. My mother’s legacy was still standing and the jewelry business was doing so well.

Tears of joy spilled from my eyes as I found it hard to keep myself from bawling. Dexter’s eyes met mine and he smiled softly at me with understanding and admiration.

Then he left his position and strolled towards me, causing me to halt. “What are you doing, Dexter?” I chided him gently. “You are supposed to be waiting for me over there.”

“I know, but that is impertinent because you’re minutes away from ruining your make-up. Well, I don’t care because you’re always beautiful to me, I’m just trying to stop that from happening because you won’t be happy if you break down in the middle of your ceremony.” He explained.

I pressed my lips, unable to form words that would explain how much I loved him. “Thank you,” My voice came out as a bare whisper, but I was glad that it carried the motive of appreciation along.

He stretched his hand and I reached for it. With our fingers locked, we headed to the platform to exchange our vows.

As the clouds of darkness hovered over us, the yellow incandescent lights were turned on, casting a golden hue at the yard. The party went into full swing as I danced to every song blaring from the speakers.

Luckily, I had help with the twins so I didn’t have to worry about taking a break from the fun and having to breastfeed them.

I felt a bulge behind me and I steeled myself, knowing who it was. “Where have you been, husband?” I smirked as he spun me around in this direction.

His hand wrapped around my waist, and the other hand trailed mischievously to the dip between my ass cheeks. “Around, watching you dance.” He whispered into my ears.

My body shivered with thrills of pleasure as the sexy tone underneath his response resonated in my head. “And you decided not to join me?”

“I’d have liked to do that, but I just wanted to torture myself a bit, you know,” He took his arms off my waist and grabbed my ass. “Contemplating on whether to drag you back into our room or allow you to dance further.” He croaked.

I bit my lips and flashed a sultry wink at him. “I’m down for anyone you choose. I could rock you hard here, then grind on you upstairs later. What do you think, huh?” I reached for his neck and circled his earlobe with my tongue. “Delayed gratification won’t be so bad after all.” I drawled.

His grip on my ass tightened, further fueling the heat of passion that throbbed between my legs. “I think I like the idea.” He growled with a dark smile.

“I’m down for both options, but mind you, it’s going to be a long night.” He warned.

I jutted my chin upward and chuckled. “I’m not scared, husband, I’m counting down to the second you’ll sweep me off my feet, dump me on the bed and make mad love to me,” I replied and wrapped my arms around him.

“Soon, baby, soon.” He replied and without warning his lips crashed on mine.
