Chapter 90
Jasper felt that he treated Alice very well other than the fact that he didn’t love her.
When she was still living at Seaview Manor, she enjoyed all the luxuries money could give. The housekeepers there served Alice well, and no one caused her any trouble.
Heck, Jasper even gave her a supplementary credit card. He was never one to skimp out on
money, after all.
Alice never used that card in her purchases over the past three years. Still, her life as the Beckett family’s young madam was much better than her life as a medical aide in the nursing home.
How dare Alice say such things in public! She made it sound like she had gone through many
hardships and torment!
The more Jasper thought about it, the angrier he became. His eyes started to become bloodshot as
he gritted his teeth tightly.
“Tch! You sure are stubborn, huh? Since you’re the manager of this hotel, I’ll be straightforward. Your hotel needs to provide me with a solution regarding this incident today.”
Betty continued haughtily, “Either you compensate me with a necklace which is the same as the missing one. It’s not that expensive, honestly. It’s over 200 thousand dollars, give or take.
“Or, you can have the cops arrest this thief. As the hotel manager, you’ll have to publicly apologize to me. Money’s not an issue. The thing is, I find it difficult to forgive and forget.”
Betty flipped her curls while rolling her eyes in disdain.
There was no way she’d admit in front of everyone that Alice was her former sister–in–law. That would be very humiliating for her.
Besides, this was the perfect opportunity to push that country bumpkin around. After all, Alice was the one who showed off in the charity auction some time ago. She was nothing without her identity as Jonah’s lover. That was why Betty intended to trample all over her while she could.
“Mr. Beckett, Ms. Betty is bullying Madam Alice! Xavier never liked Betty from the start. So, he couldn’t help but worry about Alice.
“Be patient.”
Jasper narrowed his eyes slightly. He was very curious about his ex–wife.
After all, he didn’t know what Alice was like at work. Jasper only remembered her as a humble
housewife. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
Managing a hotel was equivalent to working in the hospitality industry. Everyone knew just how
had appointed her as the hotel manager.
“Ms. Beckett, you can lodge a police report immediately since your missing necklace is worth over 200 thousand dollars. If you truly want compensation, we can call the police for you. After all, the sooner we call them the higher the chances of finding your necklace.”
Alyssa continued, “Once the police arrive at the hotel, every employee in this hotel will cooperate with them in their investigation, including me. I’ll provide them with the surveillance footage and the employees‘ belongings. The police can search through them as long as they have a searching
warrant.”
She remained calm and collected.
The crowd began to murmur.
“She’s right! That woman should’ve called the cops right away! What’s the use of causing a ruckus here without doing that in the first place?”
think she forgot where she left her necklace. That’s why she’s just kicking up a fuss over
nothing.”
Betty was so furious that her face turned red. “What’s the use of having the police investigate the
hotel? That thief must have stashed my necklace somewhere else!”
“I’m not a thief! I didn’t steal your necklace!” The housekeeper’s eyes became bloodshot due to
rage. Her body kept trembling as well.
“Our hotel is fully equipped with surveillance cameras which provide high–quality live feed in all
common areas besides the restrooms, the shower rooms, and the staff rooms.
“Plus, I’ve already ordered all employees of the housekeeping department to stay in this hotel the
moment I received the news. If any of them did steal your necklace, it’d still be in this hotel. The
culprit wouldn’t have time to stow the necklace elsewhere.”
Alyssa fished her phone out and waved it casually. “Also, I called the police when I was on my
way here. They’ll be here in about ten minutes.”
She added, “Once the police are done wrapping up the case, I’ll gladly apologize to you in public.”
Alyssa’s speech was flawless, to say the least.
“Madam Alice is amazing! Her way of dealing with this incident is perfect!” Xavier praised excitedly. He was on the verge of becoming Alice’s biggest fan.
Jasper glanced at Xavier coldly. But he couldn’t help but feel captivated by Alice’s performance.
He had to admit that Alice was calm, witty, and domineering when she was dealing with Betty.
*Fine. You’d better keep your word,” Betty said angrily.
“Of course. I’m the manager of this hotel, after all. By right, I should take responsibility for my
guests. If my employees are the ones at fault, that is.”
Alyssa continued to smile at Betty, yet it never reached her eyes.
At that moment, Sean and the manager of the housekeeping department rushed into the lobby.
Sean was carrying a plastic bag carefully as though it was the most precious treasure in the
entire world.
“We found Ms. Beckett’s necklace!”
