Chapter 33
Chapter 33 Ask For Help
The president's office of the Worthington Group was located on the top floor of the building.
When someone knocked on the door, Quentin's magnetic voice soon came from inside.
"Come in."
Eli pushed the door open. "Mr. Worthington, Miss Foster is here. She has something very important to discuss with you."
Quentin raised an eyebrow as he looked at Sharon, who was standing behind Eli.
"Get to the point. What do you want?"
Feeling the indifference in Quentin's tone, Sharon bit her lip, appearing somewhat pitiful.
"Quentin, why do you treat me like a stranger? Please don't. I'm starting to feel scared."
Quentin kept frowning. "If you have nothing important to say, you may leave. I'm too busy to listen to your nonsense." Sharon's eyes welled up with a hint of redness as she gazed at Quentin with a pitiful and aggrieved expression in silence.
Meeting her gaze, Quentin pinched his sore temples.
"Go ahead. What do you want from me?"
Hearing that Quentin's tone had softened, Sharon smiled smugly.
As long as she gave Quentin this pitiful look, he would always give in.
And this time was no exception.
"Quentin, you must have seen the content that Miss Wilson posted on the Internet. I'm being affected greatly right now. Can you help me invite Archie Duncan to help me with the lawsuit? As long as he's on board, I can minimize my losses."
Quentin's face darkened, and he scolded indifferently,
"You're affected because you did something wrong. Why did you provoke Leah? You're responsible for dealing with the mess you've created. I can't help you."
Tears continued to stream down Sharon's face, and her voice was filled with desperation.
"Quentin, I've been in the
entertainment industry for so many
years, and I've worked hard to become who I am today. I don't want this incident to ruin everything. Please, I'm begging you. Can you help me just this once?"
Quentin's face darkened even more. He wanted to reject Sharon's request, but then he reluctantly agreed after thinking about something.
"I can help you, but this is the last time. If something like this happens again, don't bother looking for me."
The reason he kept helping Sharon with her problems had its roots in the past.
When he was a boy, he had been kidnapped by malicious servants who demanded a hefty ransom from his family.
That traumatic event had caused him to develop a high fever, followed by memory loss.
According to his family, he had been
found near the sea. After he came
back, he had forgotten about the
entire incident. His family told him that Sharon had taken care of Kim, helping him recover from the trauma.
So, his repeated assistance to Sharon wasn't due to personal affection but rather a sense of gratitude for her kindness during his childhood. Sharon had anticipated that Quentin wouldn't refuse her request. She felt very satisfied, though she still seemed pitiful and fragile.
"Quentin, thank you. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't know what to do."
Quentin glanced at her and warned sternly, "Remember what I said. This is the last time."Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Sharon hurriedly nodded in agreement. "I promise you. This will absolutely be the last time. I won't make the same mistakes again." Quentin withdrew his gaze from her and called out.
"Eli."
Eli, stationed at the door, heard the call and immediately entered the room.
"Yes, Mr. Worthington."
Quentin ordered, "Go to the law firm in person and ask Archie to handle my lawsuit. Tell him that it's important, and he should agree."
